even professional riders wear helmet...so why are YOU exempt TS??
and a video of someone wearing a helmet feeling invulnerable
MALAYSIAN ACCIDENT
Helmets are no guarantee to save lives.
Following the speed limit, no racing in public streets, no drunk driving, following traffic rules and road courtesy and generally using one's common sense will.
true, it is not the ONLY factor that can save a rider's life, but it will surely contribute to a riders survival..the video and the pics you posted is just one of the situations where in a rider is clumsy and or not following safety protocols, and you think with out a helmet, that accident wont happen? it still will because this situation, its not about the helmet alone, it was the way he was driving perhaps..
and for the records, at least his head was still in tact because of the helmet!![]()

There are a lot of maybe's. We will never know what will or will not happen, unless you can divine the future. Accidents may or may not happen.
The point is, helmets serve a purpose but in some extent it will contribute a placebo effect. Riders will feel invulnerable being reassured that wearing helmets will save him so he tends to push the safety envelope further. Riding within the speed limits will definitely contribute to one's survival.
Why not apprehend those breaking the speed limits or driving recklessly? Mandating helmets on everyone will only make traffic enforcers focus more on apprehending riders without the mandated dresscode than doing their job which is regulating traffic.
