bro, you forgot to include one of the most important fact that's very much related to our topic "Heat Wave", members of these tribe don't spend summers in Death Valley, they go someplace cooler.
    __________________________________________________ _________________________________________________
There are about 300 members of the tribe, approximately 50 of whom live at Furnace Creek within Death Valley National Park. Many spend the summers at Lone Pine, California in Owens Valley to the west.

OT: bro, please don't take the phrase "nobody lives there" literally, I already stated earlier that there are "researchers, Park Rangers, camp workers and the occasional tourists". so what if I didn't put the "Timbisha tribesmen" in my comment, would it make the temperatures in the Death Valley lower? would it make the place "liveable" to the "common tao"? if they would put another strip comparable to Las Vegas in that said area, maybe then, people would relocate. but for now, only those people I mentioned lived in that area.

the place is a national park, no groceries, no government offices, no water utility, no electric utility.. meaning, there's no basic services in the area to sustain livelihood for people like you and me who work between 9-5, watch movies, go to malls and run errands. if the Timbisha tribesmen lived there for more than a thousand years, and still they move someplace else because of the extreme heat during summer, then that would mean it's really really hot in those parts. and speaking of these tribesmen, what would they say re our summer if they visit the Philippines, "wow, it feels like springtime!!"

c'mon man, it would only show that you're just rebutting my statements just for the sake of rebutting. please don't make it look like you're only posting just for the heck of it. padding the number of your posts? if that's the case, there's the "General Discussions" and "Love" boards. you're a smart person, don't make people who read your comments think otherwise.

now let's go back to topic and stick to the merits and demerits of it. just compare the temps in the Philippines and the US as what I have posted earlier 'coz just like what I've said, those numbers will stand on their own. it doesn't really need a rocket scientist to determine which area is HOTTER really.

^^ OT: was there something funny with the comments I posted? what is there to laugh about? I am very much disappointed with your reply (Ok ). it would've been better if you could've at least typed OT on your comment.. tsk tsk. I was expecting something insightful, interesting and sensible reply from you since this is a forum. in case you're not familiar with what a forum is, let me copy paste what an Istorya Mod's description of "What a Forum means" so we'll all learn from it:
    __________________________________________________ __________________________________________________ ___
What is an online forum? link

If you're new to forumming, this definition will be crucial to understanding its concept and serve as your guide in posting topics or posting replies in Istorya.net.

    What is a Forum?

    - An Internet forum is a web application which provides for discussion, often in conjunction with online communities.
    - A general discussion area for a free exchange of ideas, thoughts, and comments.

    What is a Discussion?

    - An exchange of views on some topic.
    - An act or instance of discussing, considering the examination by argument or comment.

Our General Discussions room still follows the general concept of a forum requiring topics to conform to a certain requirement: encourage exchange of ideas, thoughts, and comments.

All other topics that do not fall in all other rooms outside the General Discussions room belong here but doesn't necessarily mean to be topics that lack sense. Let us try to achieve posting interesting topics for discussions rather than crowd this room with unimportant and insensible comments.
    __________________________________________________ __________________________________________________ ___

one more thing, if you don't have anything to say please refrain from commenting, you'll just end up breaking the rules of Istorya:

    3. When posting or creating new topics, make sure that they are in the correct forum. Off topic posts are not allowed but not strictly prohibited. Should you have an urge to write an Off-topic post, precede it with an "OT:". Senseless and irrelevant posts are discouraged. If you don't have anything to say, don't post anything at all. This refers to "No Comment" or "Wala lang pahipi lang ko" type of posts. Smiley posts are discouraged and will be deleted on sight. Max of 3 smiley's with post. only 3 successive OT's are allowed.

now back to topic, here's another update related to the Heat Wave:

Much of United States in heat wave

CHICAGO, July 14 (UPI) -- Temperatures in the 90s or higher blanketed large areas of the United States on Friday from southern California to southern New Jersey.

In California, the operator of the state's electrical grid asked residents to cut back on power use because the heat was expected to drive demand to record levels. The National Weather Service predicted temperatures topping 100 in the Santa Ana Mountains and inland areas, the Orange County Register reported.

The heat, combined with high winds, helped spread a massive wildfire near the San Bernardino National Forest.

The weather service also declared a red flag warning for parts of North Dakota because of the danger of wild fire.

In the Phoenix area, where the temperature was expected to reach 113 degrees, record power demand was also expected, the Phoenix Business Journal said. In North Texas and parts of Oklahoma, temperatures were also in the triple digits, with the NWS predicting no break earlier than Monday for Dallas/Fort Worth.

In Chicago, the city has opened six cooling centers to help those who live without air conditioning.
