Again, you are sticking you your line of thinking nga intelligence equals evolutionary success. All living organisms are as "evolved" as any other, humans included. Ang ultimate goal sa evolution is fitness for survival. Intelligence is just one of the winning formulas in evolution which makes humans unique.
Nganung walai laing mananap nga sing-bright nato? Simple, its because they don't need higher intelligence to survive. Big thinking brains require a lot energy. Remember, the goal is fitness for survival. And you are right, OT ni.

i wonder kung apil ba ang okok ani inyo topic..hahahaha the unending talks about evolution.
awa ni ninyo The Voyage That Shook the World
see if tinood ba gyud ang evulotion.![]()
i won't credit evolution for our intelligence... my opinion... there should be at least one organism nga duol-duol ug intelligence sa tawo... bisa'g dili lang gud "sing-bright" gud... duol-duol lang unta bah... pero wala jud tawn... other creatures have been using their brain for million/billions of years already na...
and yes survival... but assuming humans don't have this kind of intelligence... assume lang nga kapareho ta'g intelligence sa unggoy karon... i think we could still survive bro... survive man gani ang tiki, iro, iring... kita pa kaha nga mas kusgan ta physically...
Earth is Billions of years old.
Proof.....Stalagmites and Stalactites - is estimated to form 1 CUBIC INCH per 100 years. This cave that i visited in San Antonio is bigger than a football field. So you do the math.So all Creationist must be converted to Evolutionist, NOW! KARON jud dayon. wahahhahahahaha!

Comparing the intelligence of different species is difficult. Each species requires different skills for survival. For example, diving and swimming are essential skills for all dolphins, but not for all people. Are dolphins smarter because they know a skill all humans do not? Biologists have devised many tests to determine the intelligence of a given species. The dolphin passes them all.
Considerations
1. One dolphin can't represent the entire species (and there are about fifty species of dolphins). Just like with humans, some dolphins are smarter than other dolphins. Tests for species intelligence are usually done on many individuals in order to determine an average.
Identification

Signs of intelligence include communication skills, ability to learn, tool use and sense of humor. Dolphins use various combinations of sounds and body positions to produce communications with other dolphins. They learn patterns of behavior to help them survive, whether it's fishing for themselves or performing tricks to get fish given to them. Dolphins use tools (see Resources). Dolphins also exhibit a sense of humor, performing pranks on other dolphins and blowing water rings.
Significance
3. Comparing human accomplishments (like going to the moon) to dolphin accomplishments (never built a rocket to the moon) is not an adequate way to measure intelligence. What survival need would a dolphin have that going to the moon would accomplish? The lifestyles of humans and dolphins are so different that it's hard to find commonalities to make comparisons. Perhaps dolphins are a lot happier than humans could ever be. But, as of yet, science cannot measure happiness in animal species.
Size
4. Human brains and dolphin brains are about the same size, with the dolphin having a 25% heavier brain than the average person. Brain size is usually determined by a brain-to-body-size ratio. In that ratio, humans have the bigger brain. However, humans have two-lobed brains while dolphins have four-lobed brains. Both are very wrinkly, which indicates a capacity for memory storage.
Theories/Speculation
5. Dolphins and humans are about equal in intelligence. They are both able to master their surroundings to maximize survival. They also communicate, manipulate objects to perform tasks and have an incredible ability to learn. Both dolphins and humans learn through imitation. According to zoologist Anuschka de Rohan, a nursing baby dolphin watched a human smoking, drank a mouthful of milk and than spat it out to mimic the smoker ("Deep Thinkers", The Guardian 3 July 2003).

hi orcgod... glad you joined... pero i hope and pray... nga dili na sad manginit ang atong mga ulo... which happened in the other thread... coz this thread is doing good so far...
so dolphins are the best creature that biologists can give? yep... they are intelligent and cute creatures... but "for me"... still comparing it to human intelligence... layo ra japun kaayo bai... as in layo... not even close... yes they and monkeys, could do some of the human tasks... pero diha ra jud kutob... they have minute "similarities" to humans... but that doesn't make them equal to/smarter than humans...
as ive previously posted... when it comes to brain size... sperm whales have the biggest... while for brain-to-body-size ratio... squirrels even have a better number...
hmmm... because humans are blessed with this kind of intelligence... humans have managed to survive... even if there are other creatures which are faster and stronger than us... im just again thinking... other creatures (bisag 1 ka buok nga mananap man lang) could at least adapted/evolved their intelligence to compete with humans...
good morning mga bros... and enjoy the day...![]()
@robert.
Kapila na nako gibalik2x nga intelligence is not the end point for evolutionary success. Mu insister gihapon pangita og "duol2x" nga bright sa tao. As I explained to you, survival ang dula sa evolution. Dili lang ang intelligence card makapadaog sa usa ka organism. Wala pd ga mean nga ang intelligens == Royal flush daun. Ang importante, an organism possesses a good enough card nga maka-survive siya og reproduce. Mao ra na.
Ang evolution sa tao lead down to the path of acquiring intelligence. We are not fast enough to catch most prey animal. And we are not strong enough to fend of predators. So we took the social species route to survive(aka, mag-group2x). Years of complex social interaction(planning, organizing, socializing, conniving etc) made us develop larger mental capabilities to deal with such activities.
Dili man ni kelangan og deep understanding sa evolution. Kapila na cguro ka programs na show sa NatGeo og Discovery channel about ani.
Kibaw ko nganung lisud kaau ni tunlon para nimo. Kai mas ganahan ka muingon nga god did it rather that accept the natural explanation.
