Look at the different reviews. Most of them are DISAPPOINTED about fermi considering it is a NEW generation technology compared to the ATI 5XXX

bali unta ang color sa ati ug nvidia, kai green man gud ang ati ug red (hot) ang nvidia ron.

yep even though i own a gtx295, the 480 is a disappointing VC.
atm ATI is the king of the hill with the 5970 card.
Its a never ending cycle; my advice is buy the best VC you can afford and play with it![]()
andz is right.. I use nvidia cards and NEVER used and ATI card once..
but still, the fermi cards is a big disappointment, top jud ghapon 5970..
mo tilaw nya ko sa power sa ATI puhon2x..hehe
sorry bro but gtx 480 is still faster than 5870 most of the results regardless the power consumption etc etc.
wait until they completely fixed their new technology.. fermi is a different technology than the previous nvidia series..
ati still want their glory back but just for a while..
AnandTech: "Fermi's compute-heavy and tessellation-heavy design continues to interest us but home users won't find an advantage to that design today."
HardOCP: "The only thing that "blew us away" was the heat coming out of the video card and the sound of the fan."
PC Perspective: "If you want the fastest single-GPU graphics card then the GTX 480 is the best there is."
HotHardware: "Versus the single-GPU powered Radeon HD 5870, the GeForce GTX 480 is on average roughly 5% - 10% faster."
Hexus: "A lot of juice means a lot of heat and load on the coolers. This is why the GeForce GTX 480's excellent heatsink has to work overtime in keeping the GPU under 100°C."
Legit Reviews: "The NVIDIA GeForce GTX 480 was known to be hot and fast before it came out and that is exactly what it turned out as being."
CUDA is a good feature from nvidia, but its not necessary... it makes you convert videos (from one format to another) using the power of your videocard. but hey, you can still convert videos using the power of your CPU... and i have to say that my processor is powerful enough for that job...
another cool feature for nvidia, is physx, but then again, if you already have the 5870, would spend that amount of money just to have that feature?
ray tracing... ambot para asa ni na feature... hehehe!
ang stock performance sa 470/480 murag nka OC na, due to heat and power. samot na kn mka oc ang 5870. kusug2x dyud.
