Default Nvidia GT300's Fermi architecture unveiled

Beside the regular NV70 and GT300 codenames [codename for the GPU], nVidia's insiders called the GPU architecture - Fermi. Enrico Fermi was an Italian physicist who is credited with the invention of nuclear reactor. That brings us to one of codenames we heard for one of the GT300 board itself - "reactor".
When it comes to boards themselves, you can expect to see configurations with 1.5, 3.0 GB and 6GB of GDDR5 memory, but more on that a little bit later.
6GB of vram anyone? The "reactor" term bothers me.

the board is called reactor, fermi + reactor = TDP?

seriously, there are lots of discussions on other forums that this is a 5870 killer, the only question is...the price.

kinahanglan kag nuclear reactor, para mapa-andar ang card... hehehe! pero on paper... should beat the 5870... i'm hoping its competitive... so that prices will go down...

it can't be a 5870 killer if it only offers a little performance increase with a HIGHER price. Unless they price it in the same level as the 5870 then that would be something. But we know NVIDIA prices are ridiculous. I'm looking forward to when the gtx295 hovers in the price range of the 5870.
