Jeff, a 2 year old male Rott owned by Sir Joel Lee of Cebu Permaculture Initiatives has just graduated from my Obedience training course.

This is not your usual Pet Obedience training course because most of the behaviors I teach a dog is based on my experiences as a Pet Owner.

A couple of videos for you to enjoy:

Off-leash walking - I just love watching NGC's Dog Whisperer and adapted Cesar Millan's Pack Mentality, that is a dog should walk beside you or behind you but not in front (without a leash).

    YouTube - Off-leash walking.AVI

Sit command - very useful when you need to get or buy something inside a convenience store

    YouTube - Sit.AVI

Down command - it helps prevent the dog from jumping at you during feeding

YouTube - Down Position when feeding.AVI

Recall - although a dog walking towards you is still a recall but I'm looking for a fast one

    YouTube - Recall.AVI

Wait - the command can be a life saver. Many dogs are killed when bolting out an open door

    YouTube - Wait command.AVI

Place - I teach this behavior so that the dog can stay at a certain spot when I have visitors around.

    YouTube - Place.AVI

    Happy training!

btaw oi, for me,since im training my dog + lovebird. i have tried training with and without a clicker. mas effective ang clicker. but mas maau gyd kng imong pangitaon ang kiliti sa imong pet. for example, if ur dog/bird is food driven, food as treats. if toy driven, then toy ang iyang reward. what im saying is that, not all dogs/birds can be trained using a clicker+treat lang.. or clicker+toy.. or clicker+praise... (daghannn kaaung OR) heheheh! Im just an ordinary petkeeper nga hilig mag duwa2x sa mga binuhi.. and I respect and love all of my pets, mao natrain sila. not because gusto ko sa ilang behaviour nga trained kaau, but because i spend a lot of time with them. spending more time with your pets really does strengthen your bond with them. So I encourage EVERYONE, if possible, kamo train sa inyo own pets. That way, masmagkaclose mo sa inyo pets and grabeh ka nindot sa inyong bond.
here is my thread sa bird training. stilll, i used a clicker for this. almost all tricks iyang nalearn in less than 5 mins.. (LESS THAN 5 MINUTES PER TRICK HA.. INANA KADALI) I train my pets not because knanglan, but gtrain nako sila para mas mo nindot amo relantionship. good day to all pet lovers..

@browniies, sir my min pin is 2 yrs old already. Just taught her "Down" and "Stay" command. She was able to master it in less than a week's time.

In my opinion sir, walay age limit ang dog training. That's why i-encourage nako ang OWNERS nga sila lang unta ang mo-train pero most of them don't have time to do it. That is where I step in,

    Happy training!

Sir, Salamat sa imong pag-share. I think we are on the same thought that owners should train their own dog. I always say this " how about ill teach you how to train your dog?" to my clients but I guess most of them just don't have time like I do.

Please do share some of your methods in this thread.

    Happy training!
