No probs Dan, just sharing... remember, daghan na kaayo ang tools sa ViewNX aron mapanindot ang picture basta kahibaw lng ka mogamit... as i have shown you gnina, sometimes dili n knhanglan ang Photoshop to fix a picture or to beautify one. Just make sure that you shoot in RAW and process in PS with TIFF format...
Remember the following when editing in ViewNX or in any other software:
- Use the RBG and HIGHLIGHT Histogram when editting.
- Use the 'Highlight Protection' to tone down the washed out area of the picture,
- Use the 'Shadow Protection' to reveal the areas that are hidden by the shadow
- Use the 'Axial Color Aberration' tool to remove color fringes (the violet thingy that you see at the edges of some areas.
- 'D-Lighting HS' should be used to boost the contrast and/or reveal dark areas.
- Use the 'color booster' sparingly.
- You can make minute adjustments in the White balance using the 'Fine Tuning' tool
- White Balance in the Camera: you can shoot in automatic mode then adjust the white balance later in the ViewNX. Just make sure you shoot in RAW.
- Forget the 'MANUAL' that everybody is telling you... you will learn more if you shoot in 'Aperture Priority' / 'Shutter Priority' / 'Program Mode'... the belief that shooting is 'Manual' mode will help you learn faster is an 'URBAN LEGEND'... spare yourself the trouble and shoot in any of the other modes other than the 'manual'.
- In Panning... the secret is fluidity of motion and knowing where to press the shutter button. It's just like making a free throw... the secret is in the 'follow through'.
- Lastly...

mao ni ang pinaka-importante sa tanan... DON"T PRESS THE SHUTTER BUTTON WITH THE TIP OF YOUR FINGER!!!
Till next session...
Here's a sample of Panning from my learning session last Saturday:
