Then Jesus turned His head from one side to the other, and the man felt on his other shoulder. He
looked and saw that it was the blood of Jesus. When he looked back up, his eyes met those of Jesus,
and there was a look of love the man had never seen or known before. Jesus said, "I didn't deserve
this either, but I forgive you."

The story is very nice please read.

The story is told of an old man who lived on a farm in the mountains of
eastern Kentucky with his young grandson. Each morning, Grandpa was up
early sitting at the kitchen table reading from his old worn-out Bible.
His grandson who wanted to be just like him tried to imitate him in any
    way he could.

One day the grandson asked, "Papa, I try to read the Bible just like you
but I don't understand it, and what I do understand I forget as soon as
I close the book. What good does reading the Bible do?"

The Grandfather quietly turned from putting coal in the stove and said,
"Take this coal basket down to the river and bring back a basket of
water." The boy did as he was told, even though all the water leaked out
before he could get back to the house. The grandfather laughed and said,
"You will have to move a little faster next time," and sent him back to
the river with the basket to try again.

This time the boy ran faster, but agai! n the basket was empty before he
returned home. Out of breath, he told his grandfather that it was
"impossible to carry water in a basket," and he went to get a bucket
instead. The old man said, "I don't want a bucket of water; I want a
basket of water. You can do this. You're just not trying hard enough,"
and he went out the door to watch the boy try again.

At this point, the boy knew it was impossible, but he wanted to show his
grandfather that even if he ran as fast as he could, the water would
leak out before he got far at all. The boy scooped the water and ran
hard, but when he reached his grandfather the basket was again empty.
Out of breath, he said, "See Papa, it's useless!"

"So you think it is useless?" The old man said, "Look at the basket."
The boy looked at the basket and for the first time he realized that the
basket looked different. Instead of a dirty old coal basket, it was
clean. "Son, that's what happens when you read the Bible. You might not
understand or remember everything, but when you read it, it will change
    you from the inside out.

That is the work of God in our lives. To change us from the inside out
and to slowly transform us into the image of His son.

    so very true....

    here's another nice piece

I just had to write to tell you how much I love you and care for you. Yesterday, I saw you walking and laughing with your friends; I hoped that soon you'd want Me to walk along with you, too. So, I painted you a sunset to close your day and whispered a cool breeze to refresh you. I waited -- you never called -- I just kept on loving you.

As I watched you fall asleep last night, I wanted so much to touch you. I spilled moonlight onto your face -- trickling down your cheeks as so many tears have. You didn't even think of Me. I wanted so much to comfort you.

The next day I exploded a brilliant sunrise into glorious morning for you. But you woke up late and rush off -- you didn't even notice. My sky became cloudy and My tears were the rain.

I love you, oh if you'd only listen. I really love you. I try to say it in the quiet of the green meadows and in the blue sky. The wind whispers My love throughout the treetops and spills it into the vibrant colours of all the flowers. I shout it to you in the great thunder of the waterfalls and compose love songs for birds to sing for you. I warm you with the clothing of My sunshine and perfume the air with nature's sweet scent. My love for you is deeper than any ocean and greater than any need in your heart. If you'd only realize how I care.

My father sends His love. I want you to meet him -- He cares, too. Fathers are just that way. So please call on Me soon. No matter how long it takes, I'll wait -- because I love you.

    Your friend,

    JESUS

    Default Doubt (A Play)

They should start it on time... Filipino time can be frustrating.... And they should have refunded everyone after the technical difficulties at which they had to re-start the play last night.

I don't know which is worse, this or Al Evangelio yelling at the students - the only people he's capable of dominating.
(Though "Doubt" had nothing to do with the terrible play director)

Default Do not DOUBT, It is Gooood-!

@mrbiddle, poor dude, you probably watched the 1st night's performance... One thing I learned from viewing shows at the CCP in highschool and working countless nights backstage in Silliman University's grand Luce Auditorium during my college years is...

    NEVER WATCH THE FIRST SHOW!

It's a general rule, more like a guideline actually. The 1st night is often jinxed. Let this knowledge steer you in the future to better enjoy the live theater experience.

Thanks to the prudence of my comrade Paolo Dy, he made me watch the 2nd night of performance last Saturday with his family. And all I can is this...

On DOUBT, I have read the previous glowing reviews from the Inquirer to the Star and every newspaper name that lay in between and I found them dismal (dull), inadequate (insufficient).

All (Each and every one of them) have not shed Light on dear Cathy Azanza’s* alluring vela a palomilla performance nor caught a mere Shadowcast of Ms. Cherie Gil’s convincing portrayal, which led me to the realization (conclusion) that there are writers (columnists) who have no Idea what they’re talking about, Idiots (*****s).

*****s. Particularly ME who, from the moment the lights were raised at the Ending, was utterly stupefied. I had to choose my words carefully before saying them aloud since on the fly, I was sputtering out garbled thoughts like desperate spray from a Drowning Man’s Mouth.

That story with all its emotional nuances and human depths brought to astounding life by the Actors left me Faint of Mind-------------
(and it still does, I had to work on this testimony an entire Sunday and I found the English Language unsuitable in the telling of Cathy’s joie de vivre)
    ----------------------and Full of Heart.

P.S. I could never be a theater director-! I so admire the mental and emotional endurance, strength they should have! They have too much pressure! ALL THEY HAVE IS ONE LOOOONG TAKE, and they better make it good! To you all the theater directors and producers, I BOW TO YOU, nay KNEEL in utter humility!Â*

*a beautiful actress, person, and friend!

i found the play good, highly intellectual. the delivery was intense... and it leaves u to think whether father flynn was really guilty of what he was accused of.

i thought there was still a gala show set for sunday, so i got stuck with the matinee instead. too bad i had to watch it with a horde of noisy college kids who was just there for compliance purposes (probably for a reaction paper of sorts). little boy productions' initiative in reviving interest on theater art is commendable. too bad art appreciation isn't given that much attention in schools these days, more so with proper decorum when watching a play.

OT: i can't wait for the staging of "i love u, ur perfect; now change" at the end of the month.

OT: the same thing when ART was here (with Bart Guingona). the theather was so noisy with students and one of the actors said he "knew they (the viewers) would rather watch a film than a play" which the students responded with a very audible "yeah!" which annoyed me.

@luthienne, the same was for my own experience with Doubt... majority of the audience did compose of students, hight school and college... and God, did they make the most inappropriate sounds and childish calls during key scenes of the Play.

But then again, a very famous and wise theater director/writer once told me, "It is better to gain any reaction than NONE at all."
