i'm not a REAL photographer, so i'll attempt to be a "purist"
"purist" attempt. RAW pic. 0'd everything (brightness, contrast, recovery, exposure, sharpening, noise reduction, etc.) in Adobe Camera Raw except for white balance which i shot in tungsten mode. resized in photoshop then uploaded to photobucket.
and this is my photo manipulator approach. bonggacious approach hapit hilabtan tanan, exposure, recovery, hues, saturation, brightness. hapit pa nako botangi og twinkle stars og sun pero atras ko kay di ko kahibalo! bwahahaha
my point here is: there is no such thing as "purist". even if you shoot purely jpg whether from your NDS, cellphone, p&s, videocam, dslr, hassleblad or webcam, the processor from which your light sensor was attached to has already made adjustments based on the set algorithms chuva-choo2x the programmers made before showing you the finished output. if you really want to be a true blue top of the heap extreme purist, then show your images in binary code of 1's and 0's as those are the only universal pure in the digital world. 1 being for on and 0 being for off. heck, i should have just presented 0's and 1's in my purist attempt.
there are those who take the shoot then output without adjustments approach in photography, just like the examples shown before mine. those were really nice shots, very sharp with rich colors and properly exposed. but i wouldn't call them "purist" unless i see 0's and 1's.
