you have a point, though the intention of this thread is really not to question the existence of God that is why I didn’t put a question mark; it’s a statement. Presenting a fact is my original aim---and the fact is that GOD is all in the mind. Therefore, God doesn’t exist.

all the religious texts in the world only barely describe God, and people are already claiming that their god is right and the way to heaven.. which is sad.. that is the idolized god..

God does not need individual minds to exist.. it simply is..
How would it cease to be God when people have “God” in their minds in the first place? God exists in individual minds precisely why there are religious arrogance and prejudice. Look around you bro. open your eyes. Religion is stupidity. No offense.

you put meaning into life but that doesn’t mean life has to has meaning. If you see that your life has a meaning, so be it. Like I said, meaning and purpose are two different things. Does a rat worry about his own meaning when he eats a cheese? Does a dog bother to find meaning in his life when he barks? We live because we have a purpose---coat it over with sugar and honey, and you find meaning.

I'm not talking of religion here.. God is not contained in religion.. religion barely describes the Infinite..
the god in people's minds are their own fashioning.. and u really can't blame that, because men have limited minds.. and their attempt at grasping the essence of God is at most limited only.. some go too far as to already *dictating* what God will do for them..

but God is more than that.. as what most of them would say (but I'd say it in a different light) you may deny God, but God cannot or *will not* deny you. After all, you are God's creation..

even my talking of God is limited at most, too..

i don't disagree with your point but you just contradicted yourself. you said GOD is not contained in people's mind yet you argue that the mind has their own fashioning. therefore, the mind is kind of pre-programmed already to believe in the infinite, precisely why there is GOD all along because man created GOD---i mean, where else would GOD come from?

After all, you are God's creation.

There I was crying silently on the floor yet for the first time in my life I was utterly peaceful with myself, despite the fact that problems still remain to be resolved in my life.

After that, it seems my world become easy to bear...I find it easier to accept people and all their idiosyncrasy at times, most special your relatives hehe. Every day is like a walk with God...stuck on a traffic I think of God. I faced a grumbling and dishonest clerk in government offices I think of God. Being ripped off by someone, I just shake my head think of God and tell myself watch out next time. Having an inconsiderate boss I think of God and do my job the best I can- the boss acknowledge my efforts the rest is positive from then on. I read and see people dying by the thousands, I think of God and help them as I can...same story again and again in my life.

I can't say I don't get exasperated at times, it still happens- desperation..but nowadays it does not linger much longer and it seems I more inclined to readily accept bad situation when they come wholeheartedly...only when I think of God.

Otherwise, if it can conclusively been proven there is no God, I would gladly push the button that will blow away the world to pieces with much enthusiasm and save the future people who will be born in a pitiful place and at the worst time, suffer a lifetime of shet and die horribly...perhaps that would be the most meaningful thing for me to do if there is no God and life is meaningless.

    What else is there left?
yeah... you think of GOD when you're stuck in traffic. you "pray" to an entity that you don't see in hopes that he's gonna let you pass your board exam. you face some corrupt official and you THINK of GOD and you feel better afterwards. you see flooding in Manila and you wonder how your GOD could be such a bad GOD for allowing this to happen.

would you not say that these are all PSYCHOLOGICAL? of course it is. you THINK God, you FEEL God, you even SEE God in your dreams (even day dreams). you have GOD within you and he becomes your personal GOD---but that doesn't mean he exists.

just because the mind is preprogrammed to think of God does not necessarily imply that God came from the mind.. the Infinite cannot be contained in the mind..

anyone claiming to do so must be truly arrogant and proud.. the mind can only touch a part of the Infinite, and pride makes it bloated..

yup, we're normal. nothing to worry about. what is not normal is when you blow yourself up coz you wanna get laid with 72 virgins up in heaven, hear voices from GOD telling you to murder people, preach to the whole world that your religion is better than the others, and worse, pretend that you're better than me just coz you believe in GOD and i don't. see how believing in GOD can be dangerous?

a similar analogy would be everything that we can think of..

we can think of light, so does that mean we created light?

if i'm not mistaken, somewhere in the bible in ecclesiastes, everything the mind can conceive, do not think it is not existing yet.. it has already existed before or after.. i can't recall where in ecclesiastes it is though.. calling the bible experts..

you really don't get it, do you..

for someone who is alive, and seems to be aware about the probabilities of life happening in the universe, you sure are nihilistic about it..
Did I say anything to the contrary? "You really don't get it do you?" Another one of your smart-a&& phrases to make me appear like "See my fellow iStoryans? This guy thinks he knows everything but, ehem, you all know I'm the one who's correct, right?". Laos na yang istayl mo pre. Akala mo ayos na pero hindi.

You are the one putting words in my mouth. Please look up the term nihilistic and honestly see if it really fits me. Sige kag gamit ug words to describe someone yet dili ka sure if accurate ba ang description sa imong gi-describe.

Nihilism - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Ang problema kasi sa iyo, you automatically generalize someone's beliefs/behaviour based on a few, short remarks in this thread without even checking out that person's other activities in these boards. If I were a true nihilist, why should I bother to even encourage people to get interested in things like astronomy etc? Why should I even volunteer my own time and effort, without any evident reward, to share my fascination for all things celestial? Why do I spend time trying to improve my physique by exercise and playing airsoft if I, as nihilists are described, "in despair and have despotic demeanor?" Simple. You are fond of putting people in little boxes and labelling those boxes in this manner "Ok, person A is this so he belongs in Box A, and person B is that so he belongs in Box B. I don't like person A because he belongs to THAT class of people whose ideas I dislike". Myopic, IMHO.

You are correct, Christians, Judaism, and Islam each state in the Old Testament, Masoretic Text, and the Qur'an each state that their God is the God of Abraham, Abraham had only one God which is stated in each text. I know I have read and studied each text. They are all arguing over interpretations, omitted text, added books, and secret knocks and handshakes. They are all just one big dysfunctional family all striving to number one.

Parts of The Masoretic Text is over 3,300 years old(Moses-Jew), the Bible 1,900 years old(Old Testament-Jew and New Testament Jesus-Jew), and the Qur'an is 1,400 years old(Muhammad-Arabian). The sons of Abraham became the 12 tribes of Israel.

So one must make their own decision on who might be following the truer words of their concept of their shared God.
I do find it strange that Satan hated the Jews, and Christians and Muslims both persecute the Jew.
