When ask why mao ni imo opinion sumpayan man dayon nimo ug about Inquisition hehehe...wa pud nimo gi-verify ang validity sa poster na imong gi-quote, jump pud ka's pagka-biased adtong poster didto ay hehe...problema na ni ron.

It seems that the hornet's nest is stirred again hehe..thread lock na sad ni..hehehe whew!
I did not jump to the bias of the poster my dear friend..

that is precisely why I put there "so-called".. because despite the statement of the poster that he believes they are believers of Christ who burned those who did not believe, I beg to differ that they are not, therefore, so-called..

but I understand why you say so.. the poster was biased, I am aware of that.. and some people here misconceive that I also take the stand of the poster so that's why they are attacking me then..

but oh well, i'm not surprised.. i've been persecuted or wronged many times already at error, so I'm really not bothered by it.. if there's one thing I've learned in the past few weeks: "Don't give in to hatred or anger when other people misunderstand you (and consequently put you down)." it works pretty well.. (I wish I learned this 15 years ago, I would have saved myself a lot of trouble growing up.)

mao nay giingon, "history repeats itself". nahitabo nani sa una naa puy account ang Old Testament ani.

Jer 19:5 They have built also the high places of Baal, to burn their sons with fire for burnt offerings unto Baal, which I commanded not, nor spake it, neither came it into my mind:

wala jud magsugo ang Ginoo ana...

    (explicitly stated)
I cannot really exact absolute certainty of judgment because I do not know the culture.. but I still hold on to my stand that it is extreme whatever the circumstances. i hope they (ppl in Kenya) get informed..
Well I understand pretty well you're stand and feeling about religion...been there before.

My Ninang is a missionary nun in Nairobi...she said that it's not unusual daw to see the crucifix and something like pagan piece that ward off evil powers on the altars of these people.

    yeah, exactly..
personally also, the victims should have seen it coming too.. i mean, they belong to that culture, they should have known that it would happen to them given the circumstances.. or maybe wa lng jud sila nagdahum na ibutang sila sa sugbaan..

apart from the overzealous plot, it cannot be denied that there were some bitter blood/strife in between those burnings..

also, a belief is harmless, in my opinion..
its when you make it a preconceived reality when it becomes dangerous.. that's bordering on insanity naman gud.. and insane people tend to do insane things..

it depends actually.. how real this voodoo is.. i've seen/witnessed things that i just could not explain yet, and from the physical level, it seems the only explanation left is the voodoo..

but being in the field of science, my last resort is believing in that voodoo to be the cause of evil.

there are different worlds to consider though.. and i'm only beginning to understand this lately..
in the physical world, physical science explains it best.. on the world of emotions and thoughts, there are literature/text out there that will probably also explain this voodoo thing, but the preconceived evil is just exaggerated.. its not enough to warrant an extreme case of burning alive.

although i believe that thoughts and emotions can in some way affect how physical things behave, it is only up to a certain limit.. otherwise, we wouldn't be governed by the physical laws of the universe.. which again begs me to state that the evil *caused* by voodoo is unreal in the physical sense.. it is only preconceived by the recipient of the voodoo.. after all, its easier to blame someone than to find the real physical cause of the bad thing that happened (which can be very complex up to the molecular level if necessary)
