The 50D is indeed an amazing camera. I've tried one also. People just tend to underrate it because of the noise performance. Technically the pixel density signal to noise ratio is almost exactly the same as the 50D. But what people don't realize is that the 50D has more megapixels. This means noise will appear much more smaller and can hardly be noticed. This is actually a step up of performance. =)

Yeah, I think I'll keep that lens. I'll just try finding ways and means to purchase the Canon 50D.

I believe that is the EOS 7D. They say that 50D might be the last of the xxD line up and Canon is moving up to the 7D.

The 7D is pretty expensive and way out of my budget. It's a pity they're stopping their research and development on their semi-pro range.

The 60D would probably come out next year.

The 7D is not a replacement of it. It's a class higher.

In fairness to Canon, the 7D is way ahead in most aspects if compared to the 2 year old D300.
