Canon 50D vs 500D

Hey guys,

I'm planning to purchase a new body. Any comments or suggestions on what I should get? Should I get the 50D or the 500D?

Please reply back in English if you can I can't really understand the Cebuano dialect. Thanks guys!

Depends on what you need. If HD video is quite important to you, then get the 500D. It's a very good body packed with good features. But if you want a good solid sports body, then get the 50D but 7D is out. If I would get a fast solid body, I'd get the 7D. =)

50D or the 7D bro..because of the professional look and feel of the cam..

the 500D is on midrange level, 50D is on the Canon's prosumer level (above midrange), and 7D is on the high-end (same level with the 5DMk2 but not full-frame). With this at least you know where these models stand.

again, 50D or 7D. No regrets.

Thanks for the prompt answers guys! However, I heard that 50D has some major problems regarding ISO Pictures especially at ISO 12000. Have you experienced any kind of problems on the 50D?

josefarrugia, anything above ISO3200 on any camera is basically useless. They are there if you need them but you wouldn't want to use them. I own a 5D MarkII and almost never go beyond ISO3200. If you want a slightly better high ISO performance then get the 40D instead. To answer this topics' question, 50D hands down.
