No. if the Cebu City officials have delicadeza, they should allow public scrutiny over the FLI deal ug dili tabonan unsa gyud ang details sa transaction...

"There should therefore be reasons for City Hall officials to answer directly every question and criticism raised and not wallow in generalization or merely exposing alleged Capitol motives...

...City Hall officials must realize by now that the issues Capitol raised against the Filinvest deal have become more serious and compelling by the day and could no longer be simply brushed aside as the ranting of a political rival."

    Capitol to City: Let’s talk
Jujemay G. Awit With Linette C. Ramos & Rene H. Martel
    Sun.Star Sunday, April 5, 2009

REP. Pablo John Garcia (Cebu Province, 3rd district) is challenging Cebu City Hall officials to a “discussion” with him and Gov. Gwendolyn Garcia on the “irregularities” of a 50.6-hectare development at the South Road Properties (SRP).

The governor plans to present their observations on City Hall’s deal with Filinvest Land Inc. (FLI), much like the presentation she made in front of six Cebuano congressmen last Wednesday.

But Pablo John went further by inviting the City Hall officials to make their own presentation. Both camps will then take questions from the audience.

“That would be a very fruitful discussion. As it is now, we are raising questions but they are not responding with specific answers. They make motherhood statements,” Pablo John told Sun.Star Cebu in a phone interview yesterday.

Informal talks of a debate cropped up after the governor hosted a dinner with six Cebuano congressmen—Antonio Cuenco (Cebu City, south district), Eduardo Gullas (Cebu Province, 1st district), Pablo Garcia (Cebu Province, 2nd district), Pablo John, Benhur Salimbangon (Cebu Province, 4th district) and Nerissa Soon-Ruiz (Cebu Province, 6th district).

Pablo John hopes to hold the “discussion” after Holy Week. He also intends to make a privilege speech when Congress resumes session on April 13.

no argument on this one but it shows his true motives.

everybody, city hall or province are in "business" i agree, capital gains should be paid by the buyer. but hey, if city hall wants to do that bahala sila. siguro out of desperation because loan interests are ballooning that's why they are doing this, pero ultimately i don't think everybody involved in city hall are no thinking this through, legally or at least make it seem legal just like what capitol is doing.

the problem with PJ is that, mura man sad sila ug wala'y mga transaction diha sa capitol so kung ang sugbuanon gyud ilang gihuna-huna, pasagdan na lang na nila ang SRP because track records considered and procedures and evidences aside, di man gyud na mo sugot ang city hall ma-alkansi sila ug ang mga cebuano.

PJ's hypocrisy is as if they are not doing anything irregular, that is why if he has delicadeza then he should shut up.

pero unsaon ta man, ga-away na man sila so this retaliatory move of PJ is not surprising.

now i am going to ask you, is this congressional inquiry GENERALLY and ULTIMATELY beneficial to the cebuanos, YES or NO? any intelligent person knows the answer...

unnecessarily, exposing the SRP to a lot more sharks and crocs in congress making it more vulnerable to greed will only endanger the SRP because daghan na mo sawsaw sa issue and this will just make the SRP fail.

if this is his tactic of shaking down tomas, then he is definitely wrong because he is shaking down entire Cebu, the province included.

kung ako pa sa mga garcias, if tomas is really a problem for them, then their focus should be on how to pursue their own projects and not retaliate in that way they can be the "better people" if they say tomas is what they say he is, then the garcias are not any different.

otherwise, both camps magbinabagay sa kaayuhan sa Cebu. garcias finding legal loopholes for SRP and tomas rezoning capitol lots in the city through the friar lands act.

sayon ra kau nimo ingnon nga "bahala cla" or "out of desperation". it's really not a good excuse u know...what if kung nasayop gyud? cla ra ba diay ang dehado ana? op kors ang tibuok Cebu City ang dehado gyud ana...let's take note that many legal experts see it as wrong.

as a challenge, pangitag deal sa Capitol nga mabutang nga cla ang gabayad sa Capital gains tax...i'm sure dili ka mka kita pre.

We have to note that there is a positive note on this.

We even have to thank PJ for spilling the beans otherwise dili mkabaw ang mga tawo regarding how anomalous the FLI deal was...

asking him to shut up is asking democracy to shut up.

if u think intelligently and reasonably brushing aside political bias, a congressional inquiry about the SRP is beneficial to the Cebuanos in general. The questions raised by Capitol are in fact valid and must be answered and could no longer be simply brushed aside as the ranting of a political rival.

op kors. vice versa, u can also say that to Tomas. Nobody is denying here that the word war between Gwen and Tomas is distractive and destructive to the Cebuanos in general.

i meant karon ra sila nag apil2x ug samok2x in general.

i'll level with you on PJ's inquiry, it may be valid but it is politically motivated and it is not sincere.

what if they did not have a spat with tomas, would he still being the FLI-SRP issue to congress? i don't think so!
