"The whole system of Zen disciplione may thus be said to be nothing but a series of attempts to set us absolutely free from all forms of bondage. Even when we talk of "seeing into one's self-nature", this seeing has also a binding effect on us if it is construed as having something in it specifically set up;that is, if the seeing is a specific state of consciousness. For this is the binding".

Detachment is very much of a practice, to disidentify oneself specialy to our ego is the most difficult, man more often than not wanted to be the center of attention, star of the show. Zen Buddhism strive not to feed any intellectual arrogance, any form of malice & conceit, and any self righteousness. but at the same time strive not to get attached to the process of detachment.
