    we are a backward society...

our technology is developing at a very fast rate... but our society is going backwards.
    it's sad really.

I've heard and seen from a video about a guy talking about fear and love...
he said that humans have 2 emotions, Fear and love... all other emotions stem from this two.

MEDIOCRITY compounded by misinterpretation of the bible ... don't get me wrong, if you get your kicks from poverty then be my guest. pero ayaw pasanginli ang ginoo oi (isa pa personally i don't believe mangilabot pa ang god anang mga butanga but that's another story). ayaw pasanginli ang ministry, ang bible. dayon kung pwede lang ayaw sad panganak ug pito. ka-pilipino ra jud kaayo nga pangutok oi, christian naman kaha ta dapat lahi na tag panlantaw sa kinabuhi, right?

disciples naglisod.. yup, exactly. so? tanga sila sa una, kita pud ron? yup christians were told to prepare for death (indirectly) kay you were told to prepare for persecution man. pero wala baya giingon mamatay ka sa protein deficiency. unsaon na man lang pagka living sacrifice ana kung dead kay way kaon? unsaon na lang pagka holy, acceptable to god unya sip-unon kay di kapalit vitamin C? ( ok lang sip-on kung nataligsikan ) .. and before anyone mentions the apostles, i say let's not confuse ourselves with them. they were 12 men given specific tasks (in a way like some of the old prophets), including facing death, so why not poverty. and they felt kinahanglan sila magdali kay abi nila balik na jesus next week hehe luoy baya.

again let's just you and i try not to assume anything about each other. what i am basing on here is a fact: daghan pastor pobre. why? there has to be a reason. maybe because they feel justified? kay god will provide? tinuod bitaw .. sayop lang pagsabot .. maoy kadaut kay dili lagi "business" .. usahay hypocrisy sad, pero lahi na na nga topic. pag business, profit ra ba jud diay? pag profit, kwarta ra ba jud diay? business means stability, growth. that's the idea. money is the tool.

which brings us back to the topic. naay mga muingon negosyo RA ang church and they use that premise to persecute the church. ang mga sincere pud nga christian puliki pud panagang nga "dili lagi, tinuod lagi mi dili ni pangwarta" ... unya sobrahan dayon kaextreme pastor di na mukaon.

sori usab ha, try baya nako di ipahitungod nimo akong gipangsulti pero sakto man kaayo nga example nang imong giingon gud nga pastor tanom ug utan. wala pud ko ingon nga ang inyong pastor gipasanginlan nya ginoo, ministry, bible. pero kung ing-ana nga naa pa man diay paeskwela, again tabangi sad oi. kang 2k padugangi sad tawon. kung dili mo iabsorb sa mother church kay muingon dayon, "agwanta lang sa brad, god's will" nah pangita mo'g laing support oi. utok lang ba, di man na dautan ba. kinsa man diay gikan atong utok?
i do see your point man sad. actually, that had been the case for most pastors thats why they leave their post. especially if naa na mga anak... but no matter how others try to help them, usahay lisod jd.. dili mn parehas sa among mga foreign counterparts na generous ilang mga congregation... sa philippines gud, dili ingon ana kastrong ang support from the churchgoers kay mismo sila galisod. even i usahay, bsan dili ko anak ug pastor, mangluod ko sa among church kay their too tight when it comes to financial support sa ilang mag pastors... usahay gud no matter how well ang finances sa among church, the tithes is sometimes distributed to poor churches.. kay to help out the pastors their.. then the result, apil ang pastor sa among church maglisud pud kay makuhaan n ilang budget. lisod xa, pro again.. ngdiffer lng ta about mangita ug laing support. i think mn gud that's part of serving the Lord. the burden, the yoke. like Jesus said, carry ur cross and follow me. wla mn siya niingon nga carry ur cross, if its heavy get a new one.. dapat continue lng. di mn sayon mufollow kang Jesus. so looking for a way out is not an option. kng lisod, then accept it. if it gets really hard, then ask Him to lighten the burden.

it's a catholic concept kanang yoke yoke unya iinterpret dayon ug poverty. again ok ra man na if it lifts your spirits kay masochistic ka e di go .. pero kung local church na ang gasuffer, sayop! kung lisod, then quit sitting on your hands, get up and do something about it.

and don't say pilipinas man gud ni mao nga lisod .. the philippines is now a missionary-sending country, and the successful senders treat their ministry as a serious business... pangutana nako, kaya sa inyo church magmission sa cambodia? dili no? why not? wala pay "blessing"? ah kaayo gud, gisugo ka, nya gitagaan ka ug utok, unya excuse nimo walay blessing. sa una ra man gihatag ang mga blessing. everything's there for the taking para sa mga kugihan nga dili sige pasanginlan ang bible, god, ministry sa kalisod.

anyway, we'd be hijacking the thread kung ing-ani ang topic nato duha ... ang point lang nako, daghan pa mga churches nga kinaraan, kinatoliko lang gihapon kaayo ug panglantaw. unya born again man unta.

so balik nako sa thread topic ... i say, "Religions should not be ashamed to admit being a business" .. and by Religion i mean churches, para klaro nga worldly entity sya, dili spiritual... growth, stability .. organization, management ..

having said all that .. di ko tuo ug religion ug church .. samot na nang tithes, mao nay pangilad wa jud mahadlok nang mga gapaningil ana

    thanks for bringing that up.

my gf kinda mentioned it to me this morning that the priests in the catholic university she works for drives lexuses and acura's. if they believe in living in poverty, then i don't see the sense on why they have such luxurious vehicles.

not that i'm saying it's wrong (from an agnostic POV), but all i'm saying is, that's kinda conficting with their faith and beliefs.

but then again, if the Church has the money, then flaunt it baby!
