try to read this link http://www.intlnursemigration.org/do...-on-Year-I.pdf and maybe some of you will understand the cycle sa hiring status somehow. you'll see the interval of years sa ila graph.

bahala na ug "jump on the bandwagon syndrome" ang tawag sa uban, but if in the years to come naa ka future ani na field? .....i wud definitely WAIT, coz it will be worth the wait man sad!!! di lang para sa kaugalingon but also sa pamilya!

bahala na overpromise ang sulti sa kadaghanan basta i will rely on my instincts and my passion! i'd rather be practical at the same time than listen to wat others will say....ky dili ra ba sila ang mubuhi nato in the years to come!

inshort, ni bunga na ako pag antos.... naa ra ninyo kung maminaw mo sa uban karon!

Yes, this is one reason why Philippine economy is on a mudslide because of lack of diversity of chosen careers. This year, is not the year for nursing, since Obama is anti-foreign workers. Now, even the call centers and shutting down due to bankcrupted IT companies. So, nurses are left in "limbo". Hmmm what else they can do? Go to HongKong?

if nursing is not your passion, then i'd say forget about it.
don't even think that NURSING is for you, coz it's not.
don't force it if you don't like it.

NURSING is hard when you don't have the passion for it.
    nursing overpromised? yeah, no kiddin'.

practicality is not only concentrated on nursing.
one can reach his/her dreams by going for other means.
    diversify yourself, go for options.

you are stating your point as if it is an easy world to get a job, bai, dont think nga ang usa ka graduate nga way work sa pag ka karon, tapulan na, as mentioned in this thread, to survive as a nurse, you need to have good background, good experience and money. pero unsaon man pagkuha sa good experience if daghang RNs nga maglisud ug sulod sa hospital?

yes, RNs is a good profession, but too much advertisement of this job could lead to a scenario, wherein most nurses, old and new will be redundant due to overcrowding, its a matter of supply and demand pa ghapon. cge ka, kamo ra ghapon maglisud, show the other side of the coin pud, para dli bias.

Nursing is the a top paying job in US. If your a Oracle certified you can earn as $150 to $300 whereas nurses in US work a lot and some agency offered them as low as $20 as a starting salary... Imagine... Be an IT expert rather than going to be a nurse cause you can have good lifestyle way better than you could imagine...

The only good thing for nurses is that their jobs are stable.. They could pray for an outbreak .. then more people get sick.. then more nurses are needed. Unlike in IT..

unsa my 1st step na akong buhaton.? mangita' kog agency, is that d 1st thing to do?

    ur replies are greatly appreciated.
u dont need an agency if u dont want to. but it will all be your choice...if u wer u, read or surf the web of australian nursing and midwifery council (ANMC) for the assessment and verification. then choose which state u want urself to register, go their web. both of these u have requirements to fullfill to qualify. just make sure u have them so the process will go on smoothly. once all ur done, u write directly to hospitals and submit a letter of interest to them. otherwise, u need to promote urself that u r worth for the position and that they will petition u!

the healthcare field is the most stable amongst all...no matter what the economic status is! people always get sick. kung naa lay off, seldom sa hospitals or facilities magstart! unlike big companies or corporations...its unpredictable!
