    tests are on NON RAID configs.

    now i wonder, even my sata drive is almost the same as pata according to HD tach graph comparison. does partition effects the results of HD tach?

    jordinho 223 compared to my 129.9 is way-way far.. thanks for replying.. so that means its not about the partition.. hmmnn.. i wonder why im only getting 129.9 on a sata 150.

    sorry for that i meant the raptors for the price you pay sucks compared to the sataII hitachis for half the price didnt mean to complicate things there i would sugest that if you bought a drive you get the SATAII hitachis over the 36gb raptors. hope that clarify's things just my 2 cents worth

    jordinho:nice scored on your hitachi's maka suya
    my 36gb raptors raid 0
    short test 197.2MB/s
    long test 194.4MB/s

    guilliam: i think 129.9 on a single sata150 is normal
    WD250gb sata150
    short test 128.6 mb/s
    long test 127.3 mb/s

    @jcy0001,

    hey thanks for clarrifying.. ehhehe.. im a HD noob.

    and yes.. you have a point compared to that hitachi's and raptors.. darn.. really regreting why i bought two raptors.. grrrrrrrrrrrrr! it doesnt even support NCQ right(raptors)? my upcoming mobo supports NCQ(intel 955 chipset)

    thanks again.

    ya no ncq i think na-a sa 74gb version i would think okey ra ang raptors if you already have them for OS on raid 0 then get SATAII with 16mb cache for data especialy the larger stuff. this thread got me into doing more research, and i found that the raptors are okey gihapon diay especially for OS so if you already have them no point in scrapping them coz that 10,000rpm still has its edge with real world application but if you buy a drive now SATAII is really the way to go now
    thinking of getting the 250gb 16mb SATAII of WD for my videos and mp3's. Really good deal on them at newegg right now Has anyone tried the Western digital SATAII?

    hey what size stripe u guys using for your raids?
