On the side of the organizers, you guys should not be doing verbal agreements anymore.
Maybe you already experienced verbal agreements with places/venues before and it turn out well but unlucky you are now they didn't fulfill there promises.

I heard also that one of the biggies of the place shouted at one or two of the waiters in front of the President and General Manger of that company. Luckily, Japanese people (most of them) just ignore this kind of attitude when they are not on their mother land.

A friend of mine overheard a conversation between one of the employees and one of the biggies there, the employee asked if they can use the musical instruments, and the latter replied "Do you know how expensive 'Pearl' (a drumset) is?". WOW!

I knew that the company who held the event there already made a full payment. The contract between them states that 50% MUST be made after signing of the contract, but the company already paid in full for the food and drinks. The dues left is the champagne used for there "Kampai". That's 9K+. That company is already used to paying full what's in the contract and pay later for the remaining dues later (if there is) and YES they have a Word of Honor.

One thing also, no one is bringing a checkbook that night. It has been agreed upon by the organizers and the management that excess should be paid after the event. Maybe the term 'after' is ambiguous but it's not RIGHT after the event. This is a big company and they have a reputation to protect. They will not just migrate to another continent just because of 9K+. And oh, I heard that they made this payment last month. Basing on that, dli na man siguro malugi ang venue ana.

One of the definitions of 'EXCLUSIVE' based of Google, "not divided or shared with others". How come naa lain people makasulod sa place na exclusive?

If you're the one involve in the negotiation for this event, is it you're responsibilty to remember the person you are in contact with? How come one of the biggies of the venue didn't know the person? That biggies called by name the wrong person when that biggies is in the event to "facilitate".

Also, when the President of that company was delivering his speech, a 'blender' was turned ON in the bar and the sound is very irritating because the bar is just beside the President. Do they know good manners? Why is the 'blender' tuned ON? Ahh, a customer from the not 'EXCLUSIVE' area order something to be blended..

I am also employed in a company owned and ran by people with the same nationality as that of the one who is poorly served by the venue they used for there event. My sympathy is for them.

Every Human Resource Department of every company here in Cebu can communicate and make recommendations for things that could benefit each other. I hope it won't come to this. For this not to push through, both sides must talk ASAP.

I thinks the organizers just trust the management of the venue that they don't even bother to put everything in writings. Maybe next time, everything must be in writing. Everything as in how many times you can use the toilet to how many times you can go IN and OUT of the place. Silly!

Lastly, when you are at work, imo ba dad-on imong bata sa imo workplace?
Naa man gud dako-dako sa venue nga nagkugos og bata dayon shouted sa waiter in front of everybody else.

    Happy holidays...

This is by far the best explanation I have seen her sa Thread, and makes all cheaptech's comments seem useless. BTW, I have been to Pier One in IT park, and their service is horrible!!!!

I've talk to one of the organizers.
Since we have a long holiday, maybe at the start of the new year they will take action on this.
Actually what they want from that venue is an apology.
    Up until now no apology.

    Additional facts:
    1. The venue was paid in full last November pa.
    2. Any dues incurred on that day will be paid after. (Not right after)
    3. The venue was reserved from 5pm to 2am.
    4. The management told the organizers that a band "Stagecrew" is scheduled on that day starting 10pm. On that night, it's not Stagecrew.
    5. There was an advance party on the side of the organizers to check on the place whether it has been prepared. 4pm naa na ang advance party.
    6. The management already knew that the program will start at 6pm.
    7. The written agreement was revised twice. Ang gipa-change kay ang additional champagne lang pro gi-change sad diay nila (management) from table setup to buffet ang food.
(Lapse on organizers).
    9. Naa verbal agreement na naa decors ang venue but none, wala, nada.
    10. Ang screen for the projector kay wala pa na setup on time. Didto pa nila gitrapohan kay tarpaulin ra ila gigamit. Sa atubangan sa mga guests.
    11. One of the organizers was told (maybe threatened) by the management that they will sue them if they will not pay for the food and drinks they consumed right then and there. So para wala gubot bayad sa tawn. (Gamay ra ana 9k+)
    12. Wala'y nagdala ug checkbook that night kay to follow ra man ang extra dues. (Wala sad ni-una ug uli)
    13. Ang ni-una ug uli ang contact sa organizers who is one of the owners/management.

I hope this won't happen again. And I hope this would be a lesson learned for both parties.

    my take on this:

nagubot gyud to kay wala nagkasinabot ang management og ang inyong organizers sa mga detalye. naa man diay agreement pero wala basaha tsk tsk. decors at the venue should have been included in the contract. katong stagecrew band i believe wala mo control adto kay wala toy labot sa inyong gibayran, bale discretion na na sa management kung unsang band ilang makuha for that night. katong projector and screen, gibutang tog apil sa kontrata? dapat naka stipulate pod na didto.

yes learn from it all. you will know you're dealing with professionals if sa kontrata pa lang daan detalyado og hapsay ang tanan.

Mura man gud makasaligan ila (Pier One) gisulti..

Every details.
