and oh, fyi, 3DMark is generally for benchmarking the GPU's power. so obviously, a better GPU would give you a better score than a better CPU.
I hate to disappoint that you don't run 3d marks that often to be able to notice that there are cpu and GPU scores.

consider the CPU as 5 math professors, the GPU as 100 math students. 5 math professors can do a lot of complex calculations fast, while 100 math students can do a more calculations, but not as complex as the ones the professor can do.
Do you believe that students can be greater than teachers. Hehehehe.

you're comparing apples to oranges. technically speaking, CPU and GPU are not directly comparable, as you always need a CPU just to be able to run your PC, while GPU can theoretically make some things faster but you don’t need it to make the PC work.
apples and oranges. Sounds good. But based on electronics apples and oranges aren't the best description for processors and GPUs.

a rather bold statement from you sir. i know for a fact that there are gpu and cpu scores in 3dmark. my statement was "generally for benchmarking a gpu's power" i never said "FOR BENCHMARKING THE GPU'S POWER ONLY"

for reference to the mentioned post:

my previous statement on math teachers and math students were definitely different from what you assume. if you understand my point correctly, it should run this way "there are things that a gpu can do better than a cpu, and there are things a cpu can do better than a gpu". perhaps i should have been simpler in stating my points. my apologies.

i wasn't talking literally of apples and oranges. pardon my insolence. next time, i would make a rather simple reply to your posts. my apologies.

    Apples and oranges
    From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

"Apples and oranges" refers to the idiom "comparing apples and oranges" or "apples to oranges", which is used to indicate that two items or groups of items have not been validly compared. The idiom evokes the apparent differences between items which are popularly thought to be incomparable or incommensurable, such as apples and oranges. The idiom may also be used to indicate that a false analogy has been made between two items, such as where an "apple" is faulted for not being a good "orange". Conversely, where the comparison or analogy is valid, the idiom will usually take the form "comparing apples with apples".

    cheers
