for the record...sakto jud ang tanan nnyo dri...dilikado ang mag open og ports..kay ako,,na tagam nako..hehe...daghan ayo ni sulod nako na spyware og malware og daghan daghan daghan pa.naka deepfreeze nako ha...lusot lang japon...i dunno how..pero eversince ako mga units after naka bantay nako ,,sila tanan nanga buang..eratic kaayu behavior sa mga units..blue screen..kalit lang mo gawas ma gilak gilak na pop ups na cmd pormpt wooo!!!..i got like 20 units naka network tanan...yabo oi!,,grabe...static pa jud ako ip..mag ilis kaha ko ip to dynamic..mo matter ba na? i mean PLDT subscriber man ko.account nako is static ip .mag pa ilis kaha ko from static to dynamic ip ,dli ba mo usab ang speed sa ako internet?

you dont have to change your ip bro... all you have to do is to configure your router properly... if you can, try to put a firewall box on your network.. that will make ur network safe and sound...

judging things sa akong pag-test ug penetrations sa akong zyxel p660, its not safe if naa kay naka-open na port. but it doesn't mean na kailangan nimo ug firewall na hardware. pwede ra man ug application based na firewall. pero if ganahan gyud ka na secure ang imong network, get the hardware na firewall

medyo libog imong question ha. im not pretending to be an all-around guy who is an expert at this one pero naa koy mediocre knowledge ani.

daghan man gud ta ug klase na firewall depending sa architecture sa atong network. naa tay firewall na Application Layer, Proxies. Network Layers ug NAT.

If Application Layer gani, mao ni atong mga firewall na atong gi-gamit karon. ZoneAlarm, Nod32 smart security and alike.

If Proxy gani, hardware na ni siya. Usually ang katong gi-mention namo na firewall box.

If Network Layer gani, i dont know much about this. Pero paminaw nako mao ni ang server sa usa ka network.

Pero kung NAT, mao ni ang router.

I dont remember kung asa ani nga klase sa firewall ang top-level. Pero in theory lang nako no, this is what i have in mind:

TOP LAYER - NAT <-this is where hackers land first.
Lower Layer - Proxy
Lower Layer - Network Layer
Lowest Layer - Application Layer

So imagine if naa ka sa usa ka organization na naa anang tanan na firewall. Before maka-abot ang hacker sa imong system, mo-agi sa siya ug 4 layers of security checking. Pero since we are mentioning the zyxel router, 2 layers of security checking lang ang naa which is your router and your PC

what i mean is, naka try naka ug pen test sa ubang firewall? whats ur assessment?

para nako firewall lang it wont stop from cracking, it needs additional appliance like IPS/IPD
