yes i have both lenses and try as i might with 85 1.8, it just cant get there...example try framing and focusing just the face of a baby with the 85 1.8...with a full frame camera not possible...
even for crop bodies with 85 1.8 i think that would be very hard to achieve if at all possible...
but for sure framing a closeup of the just the eyes is not possible with the 85 1.8 with any canon EOS.
thanks for the tip boss mark, gi uli nako ang 85mm nag order ko og sigma 150mm og 100mm canon pili ko asa maau aning duha. which do you think is better boss mark? the sigma 150mm or 100mm canon?

100mm canon is better man gyud pero mahal lang. same sa sigma 150mm. if naa ka 85mm f1.8 gamit na for portraits, cheaper and with an extension tube pwede ma macro. Just take a look at TwinJet's macro shots. Many of those are done using the 50mm 1.8 and the 85mm 1.8 with the kenko extension tube set.

ive used both, i prefer the 100 for versitility and resolution/sharpness/
iq...but 150 does have its pros (shooting spiders) you dont have to be too near...i hate bugs and getting too close to those creepy crawlies makes me sick!
con sa 150 is that if you cant backup anymore lisod na so less versitil siya compared to the 100.
also in general if you are closer to the subject, the clearer the better the iq can be.

@markyap: what do you think of the Sigma 18-200?

18-200 OS ry ok kaau. naa ko ani na lens. then close ang iyang minimum focus distance hence macro equivalent of 1:3 at 200mm. bug-at lang siya. Used this during my cousins wedding and nag cramps akong bok-ton after 6 hours of lugging my camera around. I also had a towel handy for my sweat. hehehehe

jordinho consider also the sigma 105mm macro sharp gyud kaau pero subra ra ka sharp to use as a portrait lens. if naa ko money 100mm canon macro gyud ako. cause capable pud og nice portraits.

@comic have already narrowed down my choices to the 100mm and 150mm bay =/ reading more about the 150mm sigma feedbacks makes me want to consider it highly now than the 100m canon heheheh.

its great... i have one personally...i use it mostly for my travels...
    https://www.istorya.net/forums/photog...ition-132.html

its not the sharpest nor the fastest less around but it gives great flexibility like no other for canon users everyone should have this an alternative/backup/travel lens....

weight is relative...to some whos used to kit lens 18-55 and 50 1.8 and p&s, it may be heavy... but if you compare this with just one lens like 24-70 or 70-200, this is lightweight... and to think it covers everything where you would normally need 3 lenses to cover...
