Maybe what you ask of Him is not good for you. Maybe there is something better that is intended for you.

3 Ye ask, and receive not, because ye ask amiss, that ye may consume it upon your lusts.
    James 4:3

unsay naa sa atoa karon kay mao ranay atong kinahanglan kay ang Ginoo gani wala pasagdi ang mga langgam nga dili kamao mutanom pero makakaon gihapon.

    Peace!

Prayer need not be an expression of a desire to manifest something. It is okay to ask. However, it may be best if we examine our motives first. The movie Bruce Almighty illustrated the point on what makes a prayer.

Similar to the issue with icons, where some persons can go overboard with it, I think some persons can also go overboard with prayer. There is a use and misuse for virtually everything.
    ---

Logical mishaps can occur with any subject, and fundamentally, errors in thinking rests on the individual. Judging persons on the basis of his or her affiliation is termed by some logicians as 'hasty generalization' and rhetorically by others as 'prejudice'.

I believe it is psychologically valid that a person express his or her desire in the most effective way possible for him or her (i.e. does help in achieving goals). With or without the divine, if it helps a person, I think it should not be ridiculed but, understood and tolerated.

Maybe because all you did was just pray and did nothing else. God helps those who helps themselves.

Free will is already a gift...nothing more nothing less...it is like a car given to us that we could drive anywhere we wanna go, but there are roadsigns and rules that deserves attention and that every driver must remember and obey...
