you forgot to mention in my comment.
It is more than good works it is a state of mind, its a perspective it is our
faith and belief in Christ by these goods works overflows.
"For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast. For we are his workmanship,
created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them."
What I meant Good works apart from faith(created in Christ Jesus unto good works) is irrelevant
the reason was I am talking to an atheist which they seem to stands upon good works apart from faith.
Who says by faith alone? is there any by faith alone in my statement?
Works to obtain salvation or as a means to boast or a measurement of ones worth is totally irrelevant.
It is by the righteousness of Christ that we obtain salvation not by our works.
Genuine Faith produces Good work, it would not be Genuine faith if there is no good works.
Faith without works is referred to as luke warm Christianity or with the laodicean Christians.

The Bible is the written portion of Tradition, as is amply evidenced by John himself at the very end of his Gospel, where he says that "
many other things did Jesus do and say, so many, I think, that if they were all written down the world itself would not be large enough to hold the books that would have to be written to hold them." Even taken in their most gentle sense, those words inescapably mean that in no way can the Bible be taken as the complete record of everything Jesus did, said, or taught.
Most of the beliefs and practices that Fundamentalists condemn among Catholics are rooted in Sacred Tradition, the unwritten portion; though I also must make certain that it is understood that no Tradition, however longstanding, may contradict Scripture.
Revelation is of a piece; it is not a patchwork quilt, from which we pick and choose those things that please us or which may threaten us less. Salvation and revelation are a package deal—they go together, and we accept all or none.
bye2x for now

actually it is written its not an oral tradition.
“You shall not make for yourself a carved image, or any likeness of anything that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth; you shall not bow down to them nor serve them. For I, the Lord your God, am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers on the children to the third and fourth generations of those who hate Me, but showing mercy to thousands, to those who love Me and keep My Commandments."
