For all the faults I see in Mayor Tommy Osmeña, I can never fault him for being a coward. Isog atong Mayor karon. In fact, basin sobra ra pud ka isog because he seems hell bent on taking on President Duterte, who is only the most popular president in our history, according to the most recent SWS survey.

I know that most Istoryans are supporters of Tommy Osmeña, as well as President Duterte, 2 very stubborn and bullheaded people. Now, mao ni ang akong mga pangutana.

In a conflict or disagreement between Duterte and Osmeña, whose side would you take?

Do you support Osmeña in his pulling out his support from the newly assigned local police officers?

Do you support Osmeña in his stance to not support Mega Cebu?

Etc, etc, etc.

Bisag unsa ka nindot sa atong drainage kung mo bara sa Mandaue ug Talisay, maamong gihapon ta. Dili jud na hero si Tomas sa traffic ug drainage kung dili cya mo coordinate sa Mega Cebu.

If he will not take the lead and cooperate in this like he should, then someone else will step up and Tomas will be marginalized. He will become irrelevant. Mark my words.

Nothing to do with federalism brod kay federalism means more independence from the national government but more cooperation and coordination with other cites and towns that belong in your region. But Tomas seems intent on cooperating with only those who treat him like a god who is always correct. Mahimo na tang Republic of Cebu City ini. Saon nalang ni!

Sa ako lang opinion, I think neither of these 2 will declare war against each other...

Mo support man ghapon na si Tomas ni Digong, not necessarily mo apil sa partido ni Digong. kadtong plano butangan LRT/MRT dire Cebu, wa man sya problema ana as long as National Goverment ang mogasto ana. Even 911, isa pod na sa maayung project ni Duterte, go signal man sya ana. Bisan tuod tactless si Tomas, di pod ni pataka makig-away si Tomas kung walay valid reason.

Alangan man pod si Digong mo declare sya'g war ni Tomas. if he'll do it, mahug siya hinuon kontrabida ani.. degrading man pod if ang commander in chief will intentionally declare war on a certain LGU. mabuthan hinuon sya sa mga dagkong media si Digong ana like ABS, Inquirer, Philstar, etc..

Para nako, Tomas is not stupid. He will not fight a war he cannot win so dili jud niya gubaton si Digong. Iya lang pasingitan ginagmay like with the police support issue. But with projects like the 911 and LRT, dili cya mo oppose because those are badly needed, have the support of the masses and dili sad niya kaya babagan. And he is being very smart about it. In the case of the 911, he has said that he wants to improve it even further by expanding to an area right above his office. On the LRT plan, he said he will support it if the city does not spend but warned that it may have to be subsidized when it operates. He also said he prefers the BRT solution. So he has the bases covered on these two projects at least, and we know that Tommy also knows that sometimes he has back down.

I am just a bit worried about his hardline stance on the police since I believe, and I am sure most of you here will agree, that cooperation if the most effective way to fight crime and the drug menace. But it is not our call so we will just have to wait and see what happens.
