COL Fund Source gives us convenience. The funds on your account can be used to buy stocks or mutual funds or both. Easier for those who have a COL account already. If you want to buy mutual funds from PhilEquity, FAMI or PAMI, all you have to do is to have a COL account than opening up 3 accounts in those 3 funds. Also, COL does not have any front end and back end fees or commissions but there is a holding period wherein you will be charged if you redeem earlier. Needless to say, mutual funds are long term investments and holding periods are normally 90-180 days which defeats the purpose if you redeem earlier.
Recommend? I would still go with track record which means it's still PhilEquity. But always remember that past performance does not guarantee any future returns. Lucky are those who invested 6 years ago. PhilEquity has gone up 5 or 6x already.
Also, COL Fund Source will have you answer first their Investor Profile Questionnaire for them to know your risk preference before you can start investing. After that, they will recommend you funds that fit your risk tolerance. But you can still invest funds outside your risk preference.
Hope this helps.
right time to those who have not started yet, especially now na downtrend ang prices ng mga stocks
Hi sir,
But in any case, you choose an equity fund, it is the fund manager who chooses the stock to buy as it is in accordance to the fund's objectives. What he meant was you have the option to choose what fund is best suited for you, depending on your Risk Profile Questionnaire.
In mutual funds investing, you are NOT the fund manager. You just have the FULL CONTROL on which mutual funds to invest. There's PhilEquity, FAMI, ATR, Sunlife, ALFM and etc. You also have the FULL CONTROL on when to invest and when to redeem/withdraw.
In stocks investing/trading, you have the FULL control on what stocks to buy/sell and when to buy/sell. Mao nani ang kasagaran sa online stocks investing/trading karon. As far as I know, katong mga tens of millions ang capital kay there's a broker or investment manager (not sure for the right term) that will assist you or guide you or even give you tips on what/when to buy/sell.
