    Default Pirated DVDs & CDs funding source for terror groups? OMB confirms...(poll&forum)

    OMB, kinumpirma na nakikinabang ang ilang terorista sa mga pirated DVDs

    Kinumpirma ni Optical Media Board (OMB) chair Edu Manzano ang intelligence report ng Amerika na nakikinabang ang ilang terrorist groups sa kita ng mga pirated DVDs at ilang kontrabandong paninda. Mabilis namang kinundena ng Bangsa Moro Parliament ang pahayag.

    OMB chair Edu said that they have been speculating about this since 2003 but nobody seems to believe it and now that the US is talking about it, Edu says their suspicions are getting clearer..."instead of getting funding from abroad, now they could be sourcing their funding locally via income from pirated DVDs, thus getting away with money laundering violations", says Edu.

    Pirated DVDs and CDs in the Phils mainly comes from Malaysia, China, and Indonesia.

    It has been alleged that these hot items are used for funding terrorist groups such as:
    Al Qaida ---> Abu Sayyaf
    Hezbollah
    Chechen separatists
    Irish Republican Army

    ay da kanang gipang bargo sa OMB na mga CD/DVD puro mana mga karaan na stock. para naa lang mapakita na naay nadakpan. hehehehe

    Pero seriously, if they want to curb piracy, they should at least make movies esp. local that are worth seeing in sa theatres. And lowering prices. IMO, movie stars are getting too much money.

    Really? Do you think the average filipino can afford to shell out 500 for one DVD?
