    Compettion is in PRICE DIFFERENCE.
I can get more cores, faster freq. and MORE cache for lot less money with AMD....funds saved on AMD cpu goes to more powerfull VC.

It will come out close with my rig if your i5-4460 is paired with GTX760.
Much bigger difference if I matched my Phenom X6 with better, more powerful, VC (example; GTX970) from $$$ saved from buying AMD's cpu although total expense for whole rig will be in equal footing.

    Hope I made this clear.......
i got your point but hear this,

both areg great procies and are of almost same price $185 vs $189

i choose it because we all want if your claim of more cores, faster freq. and MORE cache for lot less money with AMD.... can be translated to better performance.

    hopefully you got my point.

oist, i didn't bully your procie hap.

if you wont like it anymore.pm me

para sa akoa, acceptable ra man ni'ng 2 yrs na mag ilis ug platform ang CPU company like intel. kay sa ani na move, daghan man ang ma improve man pud if we'll check lang pud the other benefits... like the die lithography technology, chip set improvement, memory improvement, peripheral connection improvement & others w/c i haven't mentioned... "Technology will always evolve"...

now, atoang i-compare ni's AMD na dili kaayo sila mag upgrade sa socket... dba, the same die lithography technology ra man sila... cemented sila's 32 nm process. sa ani na move, they save cost pud hinoon. then once mag pagawas sila'g new chip set to support new speed connection requirement, or OC'ability, then cemented napud ta's atoang current position. naa man hinoon work around aning mga fast connection like USB versions... naa ra man ta'g mapalit na mga add-in PCIe cards... so, no worries on this... pero, limited ta's OC'ability kun OC'ing fanatic ta...

i'll site my FX-6300 set-up... mobo nko kay oldy chip set (Asus M5A78L-M LX3 Plus) ... so, dili ko maka OC aning mananapa ni... hehehe... but, plug & play ni sya for AM3/3+ CPUs up to 95 W only... if i want to make this as an OC'ing toy or upgrade to a 125W FX CPU, then i need to upgrade my mobo w/ a 990FX chip set (990X or 970 will do) to get the best out of it... mahal man gihapon ni... hehehe... paets...

kani akoang example, pare2x-ho lang pud ni's nag palit ug H series chip set based mobo sa intel then giparesan ug "K" variant CPU... tuwingwingwing... ang point lang nako ani kay wla mag update ug platform limited ra pud ang compatibility sa CPU... OC'ing is another thing... but, naa'y mga oldy AM3/3+ mobo na until 130W ang compatibility nila... and again, dili ta maka enjoy sa 220W CPU nla like the FX-9590... though this animal is intended for the FX die hard crowd... hehehe...

Curious lang, unsa nga board imo gipares sa FX-6300?

"both areg great procies and are of almost same price $185 vs $189"

They were not the same price back then. Today, Phenom II X6 is $165.00 (AMD Phenom II x6 1100T 3 3GHz Hex Core 125W Socket AM3 6MB HDE00ZFBK6DGR CPU US 977211110128 | eBay) ....Intel is always expensive.

Intel Core i5 4460 vs AMD Phenom II X6 Black 1100T

    No harm taken brad....
Its just a shame people use this forum to push there product first and service to the public second. We all have to make a living but isn't there a B&S section?..... peace bro

both are great processor, but compared it with mine i5 3470

i'll take my intel i5 anyday

    for me, FM2+ (A-series) > AM3+ (FX series)

ang nakabati lang gyud sa AMD is wala silay organized way of improving their products unlike intel ug katung tick-tock strategy nila. They're pushing limits every now and then gyud.

Akong nabantayan sa AMD procie ba is daghan kaayu sila'g instructions per core compared sa Intel nga dili pa gyud usable kaayu karon but usable daw sa future.

Adto nlng ko sa IBM oe kay 10nm nah ilang processor. Power-efficient gyud ba! Haha pero kibaw ko dili ni for consumers kay knowing IBM and the line of work they're in to.

IBM used to be in the desktop segment too

they power the then Power PC5 Mac G5

they were thrown off the performance hill by intel core < same time intel did it to amd >

so now Apple Computers are powered by intel

but i am hoping for a very efficient and performer quad AMD APU with Radeon Graphics to power Macbooks

    because intel IGP sucks bigtime.
