Get AMD FX-6300 (6-core, 4.1Ghz max) if planning to use discrete VC and save.
$$$ saved on cpu invest in better VC (256bit).

Q - What is desktop use mostly?

    AMD A10-7850K 6,700.00

-> This is an APU CPU then parisan og discrete GPU (GTX 960)? Not a good choice..
-> APU CPU's are mainly targetted for gamers who doesn't want to spend a discrete GPU since the built in GPU of the CPU can just handle the games they want..
-> My vote would be getting an Intel i5-4460 (power consumption wise, performance wise)..

Intel Core i5 4460 vs AMD FX 6300

Considering $$$, value and performance I'd go with FX-6300 and use the extra money for a video card.

check this actual gaming benchmark... i5 4460 vs FX-8370... wala ma'y FX-6300 sa comparison...
GECID.com: Processor Intel Core i5-4460: review and testing

ang ilahang price comparison... diri nko ni and converted to php... for benchmark purpose lang pud...

    i5-4460: 8.8K php
    FX-6300: 4.5K php
    FX-8370: 7.9K php

now, for the comparison between an i5-4460 & FX-6300, mao ni ang summary:

    CPU cash outlay: FX-6300 wins
    gaming fps: i5-4460 wins
    power consumption: i5-4460 wins
    multi-threading: i5-4460 wins

sa power consumption, depende ra gyud ni's gamit nato's rig. on an FX-6300 power consumption (whole rig), ang masulti lang nko kay mas dako ni sya'g kaon sa competition (i3 & i5) @ full load. pero, dili man siguro ni dako na negative sa FX-6300. if i-compute nato on an apple-to-apple use, mura'g dili siguro maabot ug 300 php ang monthly difference nila sa electricity bill.

now, kun ang work load, mag multi-threading (example is on video transcoding load), diri mas bang for the money ang FX-6300 if compared sa i3 & i5... price wise, naa sa i3 ni sya nag compete, performance wise on multi-threading work load, naa ni sya nag simhot2x sa domain sa i5. gaming fps wise, in between ni sya sa i3 & i5...

in video transcoding to MP4 (apps is Handbrake), the difference on the completion time between my i5s (heavily OC'ed i5-2550K & i5-3570) and my FX-6300 @ stock is w/in 7 ~ 10 mins (sometimes less than these). kun ang i3-2120, mura'g 15 mins & above difference compared sa mga i5... hehehe...

    pahabol...

mas nice unya kun ang cooling system na combo nya kay the same a FX-8300 series na copper based & w/ copper tube. mas nice pa unta ang cooling performance nya compared sa current stock cooler na dala sa FX-6300... Aluminum heat sink ra man gud ang iyahang stock...

I go for intel processors. Their processors are very stable. I had no problems with my intel processor regarding stability and durability.

I've read man sa net nga go for AMD kay cheaper so you could buy a more expensive VC.

Heavy gaming gyud ni siya and maybe streaming.

What type of GPU would you suggest sir?
I'd be willing to shell out more para sa GPU, as long as nindut siyag results sa games.

Heavy gaming man ako plano ani niya idol .
So ako issue is whether get a cheaper cpu and burak sa VC ang extra cash, or get intel CPU and a lesser VC.
Ako goal kay more or less same ra ila price.

Mo tubag Lng ko ani. Actually, good na kaayo na ang GTX960 pero not good to pair sa APU kay ma defeat ang purpose. Kung maka kita pa ka og FX6300, much better kung mag AMD man jud gani ka.
