    @luff101 i also checked google first before i made this thread
    the definitions of both words seems the same but there are articles/blogs that rates OUTSTANDING higher than EXCELLENT.

    you only wrote the definitions. so, which is higher?

    ================================================== ========

    i really don't understand why some would rate outstanding higher than excellent.
    even if we will base on xetorkaiba's definition for excellent :
    "Excellent = splendid, very good; of the highest quality"
    thus i would ask, is there anything higher than highest?
    so, if excellent means of the highest quality and outstanding is higher than excellent, can we define outstanding as higher than the highest quality?
    murag ana jud tingale na na TS, dpende raman pud tingale na asa nimo dapat gamiton ang word nga excellent og outstanding, hehe

    para nako, ts, synonyms ra na sila. tapulan ko mag-dissect.
    unless if ang outstanding is used in this way: outstanding balance. aw di jud na siya excellent.

    i think naa na koy nakitang gamay nga kahayag ani nga topic based sa mga posts nilang @bordogoy @<SMILE> & @larisse

    murag mao ni akong nakuha :

    with regards to PERFORMANCE
    => OUTSTANDING seems to be higher than EXCELLENT
    => EXCELLENT seems to be in-between very good & outstanding

    however, with regards to QUALITY (such as in products)
    => EXCELLENT and OUTSTANDING are of the same level
    => however, there are instances wherein EXCELLENT seems to be the appropriate word for the best
    => just like in foods, EXCELLENT describes the one with the best taste

    ================================================== =====

    but i'm still not confident of my explanation above.
    because if you will search for the definitions of both words, they are defined as the same.
    outstanding is defined as excellent and at the same time, excellent is defined as outstanding.
    i haven't found a dictionary that defines OUTSTANDING as better than EXCELLENT.

    murag dili ni tinuod boss.
    di ba naa tay :

    10 outstanding policemen of the year?
    10 outstanding entrepreneurs?
    ... and so on...

    so, ang pasabot ani, dili lang usa ang outstanding.

    They are defined as "the same" kay synonym man sila.. haha

    Synonym - a word or phrase that means exactly OR nearly the same..

    sa case ni "outstanding" ug ni "excellent" nabelong sila sa nearly the same.. and that makes the difference IMO.. so depende ra jd na ug asa nimo gamiton ang word..

    mura man sad kog korek ani.. hahaha

    sakto ka bro... almost the same ni sila.
    pero ang difference nilang duha kay dili ang degree kay as what i've wrote, walay definition sa outstanding nga nag-ingon nga mas taas siya ug degree sa excellent.

    mau unta ug naay inglis propesor dri sa istorya aron ma-lamdagan ta...
