Excellent = splendid, very good; of the highest quality

actually, i was expecting for answers that are based on your own understanding.
@luff101 i also checked google first before i made this thread
the definitions of both words seems the same but there are articles/blogs that rates OUTSTANDING higher than EXCELLENT.

you only wrote the definitions. so, which is higher?

    ================================================== ========

i really don't understand why some would rate outstanding higher than excellent.
even if we will base on xetorkaiba's definition for excellent :
"Excellent = splendid, very good; of the highest quality"
thus i would ask, is there anything higher than highest?
so, if excellent means of the highest quality and outstanding is higher than excellent, can we define outstanding as higher than the highest quality?

it's like giving an award sa Oscar TS.. most of the awards kay "outstanding" performance blah blah goes to.. wa pa ko kadungog ug "excellent" performance award goes to.

    so IMO outstanding ang higher..

murag lisod2 jd siya e.explain.. i hope nakuha nimo akong point..

i think imong pasabot re: leonardo di caprio not being outstanding is when you compare him to other actors na; but with regards to leonardo di caprio alone, his performance is excellent as it is

back to the topic, the words outstanding and excellent is even syn·on·y·mous with each other - i think depende ra na sa pag-gamit - like sa point ni @bordogoy

each word kay naa pud siya meaning on it's own

and ganina, i asked if i make my uyab happy and my response to the reply is: excellent which is pwede gamiton in that case and if mitubag ko ug outstanding kay dili man sakto ang word usage

both excellent and outstanding would refer to performance, morag mao ni ang point ni TS man siguro

hahay, nalibog na hinuon ko and i'm rambling - para nako ang excellent jud ang higher - but both words mean the same, depende ra na sa paggamit sa word/s; or unsa na word imong gamiton

mao jd ni akong point which makes me think nga ang tubag sa pangutana sa TS kay outstanding jd.. kay "Which is higher" man iyang pangutana.. so nigamit siya ug comparison..

    and sa imong gisulti cutie
"leonardo di caprio not being outstanding is when you compare him to other actors na; but with regards to leonardo di caprio alone, his performance is excellent as it is" this means nga outstanding is higher right?

kasabot sad kos imong point about excellent.. but ang pangutana ni ts kay asay higher man..

correct me if i'm wrong ha.. butyok sad raba kaayo kog ininglis.. pareha mis ts..

    apir cutie b!
