Growth is better than no growth at all. Although it could have been far better than that. Murag deep under this naa gyud gihapon role ang mga big ginormous conglomerates diri sa Philippines. Not just corruption in the government. That is if you take all things into consideration. Not just politics.

Momentum bah oi. Sure oi. Id rather have an administration tell me the hard facts than prettifying the real situation. In our case our GDP growth rather should have been 10 times the growth rate of China to be even mentioned in the same breath as theirs.

    observe Vietnam and Thailand

The Philippine Economy Growing too Slow (If you really want to understand why our growth rate is not enough)

I am not going to spoon-feed you anymore. But Indonesia and Philippines have been neck in neck until very recently in terms of GDP per capita. The same thing with Thailand. Only until recently did those two countries' GDP take off. Vietnam on the other hand is gaining ground, and if it wasn't for its economy cooling down, it would have already surpassed Philippine GDP by last year--It's still has a significant growth though. A lot of it has to do with the FDI these countries are getting. Can you even imagine if the Vietnamese, Thais and Indonesians got around to being remotely close to English proficient as the Philippines?

btw what's this about PNoy and GMA? ka defensive ba nimu oi. hahah. The slight is not exclusive to either administration. I'm merely pointing out that the current administration should stop painting a rosy picture, because people need to act on urgency, not blind optimism.

Haha as if growing GDP in 2010 up to present takes overnight. The deficits the country had with IMF was slowly being reduced pre 2010 days.

Trade deficits and other problems in the economy take YEARS to fix. Only 1d1ots will rely solely on GDP. Ask an investor what they think about the philippines and the figure of the almighty "GDP". GDP is good but it can only do so much.

di bai kaawatan ra jud to si GMA. She didn't do anything but cheat and steal from the country.

but really, I agree. GDP/growth is meaningless if it's not all-inclusive. I mean what's the point of a growing economy if the people in it are not gaining prosperity from it? If sa U.S. thought there is a disparity between the 1% and 99%, labaw na sa Pilipinas.

She did steal(thanks to husband and company) but the programs that helped improve the credit rating which the present admin was able to take advantage of was started by her, as well as the flourishing of the BPO industry.

Though if she didn't do anything at all, why is it the present admin is still continuing the economic programs from ex-GMA's time? That really makes you wonder. Was GMA incompetent or good or because the present cabinet is actually full of inexperienced student council members. Anyway I am OT now, but between GMA and this idiot I would rather choose the former.
