Share the road they said... But what's to share if there's not even enough of it...

EDITORIAL - Why not road sharing forever? | Freeman Opinion, The Freeman Sections, The Freeman | philstar.com

Now that the road-sharing experiment is over, allow us to say this -- the experiment cannot hope to achieve its stated purpose because the stated purpose is a terrible joke in the first place. Roads are built for vehicles. If roads are congested now, it is not the fault of vehicle owners, including many of the road-sharing organizers themselves who have multiple vehicles. It is the fault of government planners who keep politicking without looking farther up, well, the road.

To say that the road is for everybody is wrong. It is not. The joggers, leisure bikers and skateboarders have a universe of choices to jog, leisure bike and skateboard in. They cannot just usurp busy city streets just because the term road-sharing has a nice ring to it. Those who need to work to earn a living do not jog, leisure bike and skateboard. Not even on Sundays. They have to work. But usurping the road in their name without their consent makes it hard for them to do so.

Anyone miss me? haha I already spoke my sentiments about this insanity last 2011, and looks like it's back...with a VENGEANCE! New name, new name ang organizers, now with government support...but still the same. BINUANG. Di ko magbagotbot diri na mura'g bata to the point of name-calling, kay wa gihapon koy mahimo ana. Humana naman. Ako lang masulti is: let's clean our sidewalks. Ibta nang mga vendors dira, tan-awa...

I'm an Environmentalist bro. So unsa diay dakong problema?

With bike lanes or without bike lanes, I still want to ride a bike. What's the problem if we wanted to keep our cars in the garage and ride a bike to work so that our little sons and daughters can breathe a cleaner air 20 years from now?

bai, if you want a cleaner air or clean environment... unaha na ninyo ang mga surplus nga sakyanan nga grabe modala og pollution og kanang mga sagbot sa sidewalk. kinjsa gud dili ganahan og clean air pero ayaw lang sad mo pang hasol sa ubang tao. kung mag experiment mo adto buhata ninyo sa SRP or mingaw-mingaw nga lugar.

Well, you tagged the wrong label to the wrong bottle. I've been riding bicylces for more than 10 years. And for that span, I think wala ko nanghasol sukad ug mga driver. I never joined any movement, I just ride a bike, nothing less, nothing more.
Not every member who pushed this "Road sharing" plan are environmentalists and not every Environmentalist agree on this project.

So make sure to label the correct demographic group on your comments.
