CEBU CITY -- At least two persons were hurt when a century-old acacia tree fell on a passing truck along the national highway in San Fernando, a town in southern Cebu, Wednesday afternoon.

Traffic was stalled for hours, starting 3:40 p.m., as the acacia tree blocked the road in Barangay Balud.

Reports identified one of those injured as Benjie Pobadora, who was onboard the hauler truck when the incident happened. The other injured was the driver.

As of 7 p.m. Wednesday, traffic on the national highway going to the south remained heavy, as workers have to clear the road.

They are fighting back ! ! !

I disagree on having these trees removed. Mao ni rason nganu ganahan ko mag ride2 sa south tungod aning mga kahoya nga nindot kaayo tan-awn....
