I'm thinking voltage spikes at rapid read/writes.. murag osciloscope rah tingale magamit nimo check ani.. or analog nga voltmeter..try to check supply voltaged at HDD loads and IDLE..

mkaguba tingale nah cya HDD kay dli stable ang iyang plotter or needle inig fluctuate sa supply? your guess is as good as mine.. but thanks sa info.. karon paq kadungog ani nga issue..

There`s one way to check if the voltages are noisy without an oscilloscope, 1K ohm 1/4 watt ug earphones ra ang katapat, i-series ang resistor sa terminal sa earphone then use it just like a multimeter, listen and memorize the "thug" sound sa AA 1.5V battery, karon kung familiar na ka sa sound sa PURE DC nga supply, turn ON the PC, stress test it with orthos or anything benchmarking software imong PC, now connect the modded earphone to each and every voltage sa PSU (3V, 5V, 12V) with the other wire in the ground, any hissing background, or rippling after the thug sound would mean the PSU has noise problem, though it cannot determine the amount of the noise/ripple but surely it can detect the intensity of the ripple, now you can safely say that the filters on the PSU are leaking maski walay namurot nga caps, comparison method ni, so kung ang 5V section ang kusog ug ripple maka identify na ka ug asa nga sector imong pang ilisan ug capacitor....

Note: wala ni sa google....hehe, im basing it on my extensive experience on electronic communications, i-try ug search kay taga-an nako ug ribbon ang makakita.....hehehehe
