Winners from 20 countries move on to the ‘Space Camp’ round in Florida where high speed jets will flip you around, parabolic flights will get you weightless, and a centrifuge will crush you with either centripetal or centrifugal force. All of this is to determine who won’t freak out on a suborbital space jaunt on a (still untested, still in development) Lynx spacecraft. If the spaceship doesn’t fly by the end of 2020, the winner gets a check for $86k. Not space, but not too bad after seven years of waiting.

kani tanan is just a marketing ploy of Axe. im sure katong pinoy nga nakadaug kay proud au kay chance of a lifetime. naa pud uban pinoy nga proud pud nga naay pinoy naka apil. ilaha pud nang trip.hehe.

It was Unilever, through AXE, that chose to go with the "Hero" campaign, with the media buying into it as well. Can't fault them, private space flights don't come cheap so marketing has to be loud and clearly for some, including the TS, obnoxious.

Really happy for the 2 candidates from the Philippines though. Even if they don't make it through the rigorous training at Space Camp, just being there is the stuff of dreams for people who wished to be astronauts when they were young, myself included.
