The Honest Frustration of a Relief CEBUANA Volunteer

Ang mga napadala dayon nga relief goods gikan Indonesia nga packed in a pouch and ready to distribute na mao’y gipabungkag ug gipanglahi lahi ang sulod sa among pagvolunteer.

Nanguli mi ug giputol namo among pagserbisyo.

I am frustrated. I am angry. I feel hopeless.

    "Damn, this Cebuana is smart!

Indeed, it is ridiculous that when Cherrey’s complaint was about the delay in getting the goods over to the victims, the only response that the DSWD Region VII folks could provide is “We are not stealing.”

    *Facepalm*

All of what’s been going on in DSWD is consistent with the incompetence and wrong priorities of the grossly negligent and incompetent Noynoy Aquino Administration.

So how is it that a young girl like Cherrey has much more sense than this bunch of bumbling buffoons (): Dinky Soliman, Manolo Quezon, Mar Roxas, and Noynoy Aquino?

It’s an emergency, for Chrissakes! There’s no time to do all this wasteful repacking! The whole point of relief operations is to save people’s lives! Get the relief goods to them ASAP! It does not matter if people know where the relief goods came from or not, and all this bureaucracy (and all the crap about proper protocol or “rules on how it’s done”) takes a back-seat to achieving real results: saving people’s lives.

    Save us from Stupidity!
    "

......at kayo na ang humusga madlang people!

Ok. I've had enough of the stupidity going on in this thread. Well from about 3-4 people actually.

I asked kung unsay pasabot sa gi ingon nga kung di ganahan sa balita ayaw basaha kay sayop man kaha akng interpretasyon. Walay tubag.

DYHP? Matay... Wala man gani nahimo ang CNN. Ang CNN pa hinuon nahimong dautan.

What made you say that the volunteer was misinformed sir? Gipun.an pa jud nmo ug child. You really enjoy looking down on others noh? Yes she is entitled to rant because of the things she saw while volunteering. Ikaw on the other hand is not entitled to tell her that she has no right to speak her mind. Defend your president for all we care but never tell us to shut up.

Well, continue blindly following your inept president. He WAS my president. Not anymore. Not after everything I've seen.

And to all those criticizing the government. Keep it going. Continue to stand firm against INEPTOCRACY.

    Good luck.

    P.S.
Sa mga anti-Pnoy. No need to call names. Keep it classy, simple, and educated.

He is a Mayor and I think he should lead by example bahin aning evacuation. Ang effects ani is "Ahh si mayor wala man gani magpalayo aw ok ra siguro ari lang sad mi sa amoa".

So ug naay kasuhan ani administratively sa Tacloban then it's the mayor. I also got the feeling tungod sa politics gahi nig ulo si mayor kay Aquinos ug Marcoses are long time rivals.
If heads will roll, then heads will roll... Dili lang kay tungod rival sa politica, in w/c mao may tanaw sa kadaghanan, nga politically motivated, and that all these incompetence, loss of lives were pointed out to the Local Government Unit.

Dili na na bag-o sa mga pinoy nga kon naay mandatory evacuation, most of them will stay kay mahadlok i-loot ilang balay. I think this tragedy would bring changes on our emergency and disaster preparedness.

While my idea is a bit wild, pero how I wish we have a "National Guard" system, replicated to that of the US. This is quite a long shot, but nonetheless, mas effective ang disaster response, emergency preparedness as well as recovery efforts.

Kani among mga staff gkan sa tacloban nga nia diri karon sa amoang main office, they have admitted nga wala man nagkulang ang LGU to its constituents instructing them to go to safer grounds. However, all of them but one, stayed kay lagi "anad na sila".. The only one that went to Tacloban gymnasium lost few members of their family when the gymnasium was overran by raging sea water, while the rest, they are safe and intact, but lost everything kay na washed out jud ang panimalay.

I am cursing my being a Filipino. Because I don't like their president.

It breaks my heart to see my countrymen suffering so much. I will do my share, whatever I can do to help. I will bear insults and harsh words, if this is the price for my people to receive the aid we need. I make no excuses for my country's shortcomings, but I just wish that some positive slant (the many small tales of heroism, the hard work of our soldiers, the volunteerism and compassion of the typical citizen, etc)
Because i volunteered. I can rant all i want.
