dha sa Pinas, since ang power sa mains dili clean and stable, need ug UPS or AVR... sa mga countries na stable ang clean ang kuryente, these 2 are not needed... example. ako, my rigs are plug directly into the wall outlet...
about the "El Chipo" Electronic AVRs, my family used 3 sets... about 550 each and i had bought it last 1995... and one Servo AVR, i had bought it for 4.5K php last 1993... all 4 units are very alive and kickin'... the "El Chipo" ones age is around 18+ yrs old while the Servo type is aged around 20 yrs...
grabeh kaayo ang experience ani nila sa power surge sa balay nmo sa mandaue during the early and middle 90's... the time that they were bought until the early 2000... mag awop2x ang kuryente tungod sa low voltage... pwerte gud ka saba sa Servo type kay mag piti2x... wla man gyud ni sila ma guba. maybe, the units before were sturdy and reliable compared to the newer ones...

basin guba ang dual fast recovery diode, naa man gud nay voltage detector, pag walay masense sa 3.3V/5V/12V inig ON, mag selfrestart or autooff ang unit, nagrevive pud ko sa ako old thermaltake na 360W napagana nko gi omit nko ang active PFC kay wala koy makita nga PWM IC nga mocontrol sa flactuating voltage...
naa pud koy gimodify nga generic PSU to 24V pang supply sa Apple 23 cinema monitor(marukoy ang apple store kay sila daw check up unsa daut hehehe nga power adapter ra ako tuyo)...
andam andam ug daghan nga dual fast recovery diode (mga 6 dual na ako nadamage sa pagmodify), sa junk shop perteng daghana hehhehe diha ko tigkuha spare parts....tag 30P/Kilo mga 3 PSU boards na walay labot casing kay maapil ug kilo walay pulos...

^cdrking paets na.... basin gaovervoltage... palit na lang tester arun makita asa nga linya ang naay problema.. basin daut ang transformer.. basin swertehon ka makakita kag service manual or circuit diagram ana imo PSU dali ra magtracing, if wala circuit diagram, esearch ang mga IC nga naa sa board (LM339, D339, B494, SG6105 mga alike dapit sa output) arun naa ka schematic asa gapadulong mga voltage sensor...
