Marcos was also a very superstitious and paranoid, a trait he took after his grandmother Emerenciana Q. Edralin, who later passed on this trait to her daughter Josefa, and who in turn nurtured this in Marcos' upbringing. Lola Edralin once got a "prediction" from a local soothsayer claiming that one of her grandsons would become Philippine President someday.
Thus, when Ferdinand Marcos was born, Josefa named him after the famous architect of what is roughly now modern Spain, King Ferdinand, in order to prepare him for his destiny as Philippine President. He later cultivated this superstition by having with him an amulet, and sending several promising psychics to USSR to be schooled in occult. No doubt, these psychics formed a part of Marcos' advisory council.

ambot if ma bayran pa ba na atong utang.

My grandparents were not a marcos fan pero maka compare pa jud sila sa sitwasyun karon ug sauna.
Ilang linya daun kay "lahi ra man mag lakaw2 sa dalan sauna. wa man manghilabot nimo" or "kadaghan bang libod suroy hilabtanon na ron oi, wa pa mani sa among panahon". Di kuno gubot ang Pilipinas. Maayo man daw ang panginabuhi nila sa una, labi na daw before martial law. Pila ra kuno ilang sweldo sa una as teachers.

so maayo jud siguro sauna labi na before martial law.

^^ Does IMF and the WB practices loan sharking during those times,
if this is so Marcos with his brilliance should have anticipated it.
He does not have true intentions of prospering the country if that
was the case, he merely used the nation as a collateral so that he could
have that billions of dollars for his own keeping.
He cloaked everything it with photos of supposed achievements that was not
an achievement at all but a failure for it entails greater debts without any significant
modes of repayment/returns, brilliance at it's best I could say.
    Such a political beast.

if that bataan nuclear plant was used, we'd not be complaining for a 24-hour airconditioner at home...

and i guess someone will bring up the Chernobyl/Fukushima meltdown now...
oh yes...2 meltdowns...out of hundreds still operating and the people enjoying a cheaper per/kw/h...

oh yeah...that was a marcos project....that NEVER launched....
probably protested by the same people protesting to "lower the price of oil/gas/etc"...
