According to a claim, Ferdinand Marcos asked Doy Laurel at his bedside (he was dying) to request Doy to send a message to Cory that he (Marcos) will give out 90% of all his "wealth" just to be buried in the Philippines besides his mother. Doy tried to make an urgent call to ask Cory's attention and wrote a letter to her for the same request. Cory replied that if its is something important you need to tell it to the public but Doy reserves this message only to her. Doy tried to reach out again only to figure out that she had spend an hour with Tom Cruise who was in PH at that time.

If that was true the at least a huge amount of ill-gotten wealth was easily recovered. The claim said he just asked 10% for his family.
