^ wala ra ba ko idea dha sa atoa bro... mao ni diri akoang planned budget for your reference. for sure, mas barato siguro dha sa atoa...

    > used Celeron D 360: 30 rmb... roughly, 210 php...purchased and received
    > used Gigabyte LGA 775 mobo (no built in iGPU on the chip set): 90 rmb... roughly, 630 php... purchased and on the way for delivery
    > used PCI GPU (kani lang kay barato): 40 rmb, roughly, 500 php... not yet purchased.. .or if maka kita'g used PCIe form factor GPU na same price range, pwede ra pud ni...
    > bnew Kingston Value Ram 4GB (2x2GB) DDR2 800: 100 rmb per module... 200 rmb total... roughly, 1.4K php... not yet purchased... ngita ko'g used para maka barato... i might buy 2GB only (1x2GB or 2 x 1GB) to have a low cash outlay as possible. preferred NAS OS for this NAS box would be Nas4Free... a 2GB system is more than enought for this NAS OS...
    > bnew generic mid-tower chassis with a generic level 420 W PSU and a generic 80 mm rear exhaust fan: 135 rmb, roughly, 945 php... purchased and on the way for delivery

total budget (less the HDD): 3,685 php equivalent (subra sa akoang planned na 3k php equivalent lang unta less the HDD)... ngita pa ko'g barato na uban components diri para maka less pa gyud. if naa ko makit-an na used ram, the better it is. mahal man gud ning DDR2 800 na modules gud...

purpose for this NAS box would be used at home in Mandaue... for storage only... no add-ons will be added into the NAS OS. planned HDD configuration would be RAID1... either 2 x 1TB or 2 x 2TB... agdon lang ang budget...

here's the catch on the set-up, if nag Atom mobo unta ko... mas dako2x ko'g gasto... this is the main reason why I choose the HW as mentioned above...

    > used intel D410PT mobo (Atom D410 CPU on-board): 195 rmb... roughly 1,365 php equivalent
    > bnew Jonsbo V2 chassis: 250 rmb... roughly 1,750 php equivalent
    > bnew SAMA 250W mATX PSU: 150 rmb... roughly 1,050 php equivlent...
    > bnew Kingston Value Ram 4GB (2x2GB) DDR2 800: 100 rmb per module... 200 rmb total... roughly, 1,400 php equivalent

total cash out lay for these above mentioned PC components (HDD not included) would be 5,565 php equivalent... difference from the Celeron D 360 set-up would be 1,880 php. given this amount, I can buy a bnew 320 GB HDD or pun-an ug gamay, bnew 500 GB HDD na... w/c can be used by the NAS box too...

for the CF adapter, you can use this on mobos w/ IDE/PATA header... mao ni sya bro ai...

then kun mahal ang CF card or naa'y available na SD card na daan, we can buy a SD to CF card adapter pud... kani sya...

work around ni sila if dili pwede himoon ug bootable device and USB... gamit ta ani then set ug bootable ang IDE sa BIOS after the NAS OS installation. diri nato i-install ang NAS OS. for sure ang gamiton nato na HDD(s) kay SATA man...
