Yes, you are right. Ganahan ko mag DIY. Hehehehehe.

about diay sa FreeNAS 7... padayon na sya sa NAS4Free OS (continuation of the original FreeNAS)... once up & running na ning Celeron D 360 NAS box nko, mao ni akoang i-butang na OS nya... mas gaan ni'g system requirements compared sa FreeNAS 8 series...

    @ TS,

Hehehehehe.

ah i see... ok ra gyud na sila bro pero, taas2x lang ang kaon sa kuryente compared s Atom. if dili ka mag 24/7 operation ang NAS box nmo, ok ra gyud na kaayo ang gi pang mention nimo na CPU...

pila ang Celeron D na CPU sa B&S? ug unsa na model sya?

  7. #27
^ Limot ko boss, nag tan.aw2 raman ko ato. Katong Celeron D kay 2.5k; setup na siya. Dili permi siguro 24/7 mag dagan akong NAS. Kana sad ako gi huna2 ron if ma outweigh ba ang cost sa pag palit ug intel atom compared sa mga karaan lang nga hardware ang bayranan sa kuryente. Hehehehehe

  8. #28
    Ok rani siya nga setup?

^ 32 bit processor ang Pentium M bro (as posted ang specs nya)... naa man hinoon mga NAS OS na 32 bit. sa ana na HW, mas better na mag NAS4Free kay or other NAS OS na gaan or perhaps, the FreeNAS 32 bit variant...

make sure lang na pwede mka boot viaUSB ana nya... this is a nice to have... its not a big deal man hinoon. naa man mapalit na CF reader na pwede i-install sa IDE/PATA mobo header the gamit lang ug CF card for the OS drive... this is a requirement if mag FreeNAS OS ang gamiton. kay kun i-install ang FreeNAS OS sa HDD, dili na magamit ang free storage space nya kay i-dedicate man ang drive for the OS.... sayang ang HDD...

for that price, you can purchase a stand alone NAS box na... excluding the HDD...

naa sa B&S na namaligya ug Celeron D CPU... 100 php lang. then basin naa'y mapalit na used LGA77 mobo dha na barato plus ram... then naa pud namaligya ug case plus PSU sa B&S pud... priced at 800 php to'ng isa ka set... basin maka barao ka if ikaw ang mag DIY ug used components bro... explore all opporunities, make a cos analusis... then decide... if budget is a constraint, get the best HW choice that money can buy... make it low as possibe for your FreeNAS box (personal use ra man kaha ni)... excluding the HDD kay you'll decide your HDDconfiguration once the other components are at hand...

^ Mag post nalang siguro ko sa B&S section. Salamat sa idea. Regarding anang CF reader, can I do that to all types of motherboard?
