After Ford, other plants to close, if … | Inquirer Business
unsa estor? An industry source who refused to be named said: “Given now the equation of CKD [completely knocked down] and CBU tariffs at 0 percent for CEPT [Common Effective Preferential Tariff] and Japan, I would say there is no advantage for assemblers. Which is the reason why the Chamber of Automotive Manufacturers of the Philippines Inc, the Truck Manufacturers Association, and the Philippine Automotive Competitiveness Council Inc. are working with the government to re-craft a new Motor Vehicle Development Program to develop the local market and to have incentives for assemblers.”
The source warned that if the government does not intervene, it would be most likely that another auto plant would shut down. “We can’t continue producing the same CKD models for a long time. The principal company will naturally determine where the successor model will be produced, which will be advantageous to the model in terms of costs and volume,” added the source.
The Ford plant shutdown has led some auto executives of Japanese brands to nervously utter, in jest, perhaps, during the official launch June 29 of the upcoming Philippine International Motor Show at the Makati Shangri-La, “So who is going to go next after Ford?”
high blood na?![]()
haha yes, na high blood kog kinatulog ug kinatawa nimo!
so, what did your post with links prove? nada. nothing.
press release na sad ang basis? KID, e compare gud nang number sa ilang nahalin kontra sa 36,000 vehicles per year capacity plant sa Laguna. again, who needs government incentives if there is so much money from sales? gi close ang planta kay gitangtang ang government incentives? unsang utoka?
and please, don't take 'can't sell their cars' literally. of course, i don't mean Ford is making ZERO sales by that. aren't you a 'self-confessed businessman and expert of economy' para dili maka gets sa akong gipasabot?
and lastly, the article you posted was entitled 'after Ford, others will follow', how come Mitsubihi is expanding?![]()

very funny... mas credible pa imong words Mr. "the govt is not spending" ? kaysa press releaseas least liable pa ang press for libel. proves "nothing2x" pa para ingnan dili botbot iya pang yawit, puro gani stupidity lol
ikaw wa man gyud ka knowledge in business sense, a smart businessman will always look for ways to increase his profits. Ford already said they will continue to produce at least 1 model if na continue ang incentives.
do i have to show another link which says nagclose sila kay wa natagaan ug incentives? naanad man gyud ka ug spoon feeding hehehe
unsa na ang export dili na sales? duh.. unsa na pan labay nalang ang over production sa ilang plants lol. you want links pila ilang export ? ? ikaw na lang research kay moingon na pud ka press release hahaha FYI Ford is the country biggest car exporter. tan-aw nimo mapulihan na ng toyota, mitsubishi ug honda? nag salig man gani sila sa JPEPA.

Campi chief sees better times ahead for auto industry | Inquirer Business
Feb 2013Campi VP and Mitsubishi Motors Philippines Corp. first vice president Dante Santos agreed, informing the motoring media that automotive road maps—which would provide both fiscal and non-fiscal incentives to the industry—are now being discussed with the Board of Investments.
“The country’s free trade agreements relating to the automotive industry should be revised in such a way that it should be more meaningful and responsive to what the industry needs now and this includes the current Japan-Philippines Economic Partnership Agreement (Jpepa),” Santos said.
Isuzu Philippines Corp. VP for Corporate Business Arthur Balmadrid added that the road map should be given priority in order to further convince principals not to transfer operations elsewhere while at the same time assure that talented Filipino workers will continue to have jobs thanks to models that are locally manufactured or assembled.
BOI prepares new roadmap for auto industry | Business, News, The Philippine Star | philstar.com
A road map for the automotive industry will be released within the next two months as the government is still looking at ways on how it can provide incentives to local car manufacturers without reducing excise taxes, a trade official said.
it just really show dumb move ang gihimo aning admin for not giving Ford incentives in the first place then mo craft ug new incentive program. naa man program ang GMA admin wa nila gi continue. Close na ang Ford ron.
And for Mitsubishi, research about JPEPA plus the new road map for car maker, will only be beneficial to them.

use your 'business sense' Mr. genius:
plant capacity per year = 36,000 vehicles
total export for 10 years = 80,000 vehicles
good business or bad business?
and you want the government to give incentives to this company? on whose expense?
unsa nang government, part owner sa Ford?
and will you remind me or better yet quote me about 'the govt is not spending' thing, i honestly don't remember it. lol
dont confuse plant capacity from total production. If my source is correct 120k cars lang ilang nahimo in total, cause they are running at 25% of max potential. and about 80k exported.
the end result we lost the one and only car exporting company...
Japanese companies naay benefits from JPEPA.. nganong di nato mahatagan ug same benefits ang american company? huh daang matuwid reasoning?corrupt ang Ford
heres your quote... hahaha
https://www.istorya.net/forums/politi...l#post13375550
^did i say they manufacture 36,000 vehicles a year? you just proved my point? why operate only at 25% of your plant if there's a high demand for your vehicles? so what kun nawala ang lone car exporter? dako diay ug impact ang ma export sa Ford compared sa total country's export? morag mas dakog mawala ang gobyerno through incentives kun magpabilin sila dinhi.
my point is, Ford plant was shut down because of their 'economic decision', dili na tinood imong giingon nga tungod kay gitangtang ang incentives. in other words, hinay ilang halin so dili na viable nga maintain ug plant sa Pinas. so why blame PNoy?
and by the way, pareho diay nang 'almost zero goverment spending' ug 'government is not spending'?![]()
