Like Viktor said the movie is about friendship, loss, and the power of our own imagination. I don't see what is so binata about friendship and particularly - loss.
But anyways, to each his own.![]()

I do highly recommend the book. While the movie is almost a near perfect translation to the big screen, some relationships are given much more emphasis especially the one with Jesse and his father. Daghan ug lessons ang movie and the story itself. The premise is very basic but it makes me miss my childhood when we used to make heavy use of our imagination to play and just get lost whenever we want to (especially those forced afternoon naps when we really dnt want to sleep)Originally Posted by Luthienne

it was okay for me... a bit on the boring side... not at all that moving....
A more appropriate comparison for you would have been Terabithia and Syriana. I've seen Syriana. It's a movie with substance but was also quite a snooze fest. Lito Lapid's movies are wholly inappropriate.Originally Posted by mitch_a888
Again, sorry for nitpicking. Again, to each his own.
The natural knee-jerk reaction of most people when seeing movies that have children as the lead characters is "ay walay lami kay pambata". However, that view is ironically a childish reaction at best; you fail to see the whole picture since all you see are the superficialities. There are several stories that have children as the lead character, that use animation AND children (e.g. Grave of the Fireflies), and yet they have a universal appeal because of the message it delivers.Originally Posted by maerkz
Learn to view past the superficialities and see what is underneath. Watching movies will be a whole lot more enjoyable enriching experience for you.
P.S. I am now an emotional bastard. Please disregard any unintentional insult I may have insinuated.![]()
