    You're one inconsistent fellow...

You can't expect to a motorist to always press their horns. If you've been to colon you can often hear Jeeps and taxis Pumping their horns like there's no tomorrow just for pedestrians to look at them... so what makes you think that pedestrians can identify horns from a motorcycle from a jeep or taxi? but if you hear a motorcycles muffler pedestrians will be aware that there's a motorcycle within the congested traffic and will be more cautious when crossing.

Like I said, it really depends on the driver if they're abusing it or not.

Cebu city or any city is already a noisy place if you want peaceful and very quite place so much, sound proof your house or take yourself or your grandma/pa to the tip of the mountain.. if others can do it, why cant you?

Ang problema man gud sa ubang mga tao karon, self centered ug narrow minded ra kaayo unya mo gamit ug phrase nga "maikog sa uban" or para "dili maka istorbo sa uban" without considering nga bisan wala pay naka muffler nga mga motor, SABA GIHAPON ANG MGA MAIN ROAD! And kinsa man diay ang "ma istorbo" ba? Mga tao nga nag trabaho or kanang mga tao nga nangatulog? If nag puyo ka daplin sa karsada, it's a given fact nga dili nimo ma control ang kasaba sa mo agi nga mga sakyanan, kung gusto man diay ka ug walay saba why live near the street in the first place? Aber? And then you complain nga saba? Dafuq?

Familiar ko ug mga tao nga may pagka ignorate gamay regarding anang mga saba nga muffler and they often thought nga pareho tanan modified muffler, saba. Diha mo nasayop. As I've mentioned, depende na sa diameter sa tambutso ang kasaba, the bigger the hole the louder it is AND depende sad na sa RPM sa makina, the higher the RPM the louder the muffler sound. Example, if you are in first gear unya imong ipa utong ang makina almost to it's limit, GRABE KA SABA ANG MUFFLER but if you maintain travel at a lower RPM, less ang ka saba sa muffler, yes, naa gihapon ang kasaba pero LESSER unlike anang ipa utong ang makina nga na FAMILIAR ninyo which is inyong ug akong gi kalagotan. Klaro na ba?

Ato nalang basulon ang muffler sa kaduka? In computing, we have something we call PEBKAC. I will call this PEBGAC, perhaps "Problem Exists Between Grip and Chair".

And because I noticed the bolded part. I ask you this, as a pedestrian or as a driver? As a pedestrian, very noticeable ang motor. But because we have asshole motorcyclists (not blanketing) racing to the start of the stoplight, I always have a second look when crossing in a red stoplight (read: RED STOPLIGHT. asa ka ana maglumba-anay gihapong mga motor). Asa ang problem ron? Asshole drivers or mufflers? Unsa pa kahag 4 wheeler ka na isolated ang noise from the outside. The only thing holding you off from an accident are your well calibrated mirrors and your sound judgement.
Well, perhaps you should have read EVERYTHING and CAREFULLY bai para maka hibalo ka sa tubag but for the sake of making my point, let me say again nalang and BTW, he's not DRIVING, he's RIDING. "para dili siya dukaon while nag byahe ug layo." Which translates to LONG RIDE. Perhaps the word LONG RIDE doesn't exist in computing world but I know you know what it means. But I will still give you an example, Cebu to Dumanjud 3 times a week or basin para nimo kana nga distance dili ma consider nga LONG RIDE.

"Ato nalang basulon ang muffler sa kaduka?" Hmm.. Unsa gani ang mga reasons nga mag stereo (music) while nag drive ug awto? TUBAG.

Why not answer my question first? I have outlined my experience on my reply yet you choose to give another scenario which it totally different from what I was referring to. I wasn't talking about riders racing their way when the light turns green, I was referring to people who SUDDENLY CROSS THE STREET. Suway suroy-suroy sa tabunok area bai as an example kay pwerte daghana diha nga mo labang nga dili mag tan-aw kung naa bai nag padulong nga sakyanan.

And don't give me that "well calibrated mirrors and your sound judgement" excuse kay ang akong gi mention bai dili man about not hitting a 4 wheeled vehicle, NOT HITTING A PEDESTRIAN MAN. Unsa man diay ka mag drive/ride? Pa atras? Perhaps you should have not stopped reading para maka sabot ka sa akong point because sometimes, being impulsive is not a good thing, even in computing.

Being heard in a busy streets while riding along with huge dump and trailer trucks can save lives.

Being heard in the road from pedestrians who are trying to cross in a clumsy or not in a focus manner can also save a lot of lives.

It's just that, abuse is always there. How about just apprehend the abusers perhaps?
Exactly. Some reasons may be downright stupid but that doesn't mean it's not true. Basin naka limot ang mga tao unsay rason nga naay stereo ang sakyanan or unsay rason nga naa kay ka storya while nag drive ug sakyanan. Same ra gud sa argument nga car is better than a motorcycle or vice versa, one can't expect nga one side will be perfect and the other is full of crap and it boils down to personal preference.

Yes, it'a a lame excuse but let's not forget the fact that we humans instinctively look whenever something loud is approaching. Dili ba sakto? Mao bitaw nag ask ko kay human instinct naman na nga mo lingi jud kung naay saba nga padulong or if dili mo lingi ma aware nga naay ga padulong which will indicate nga kung mag danghag ug labang, aw, ma igo jud.

Again, there will be instances nga WALA NAKAY TIME NGA MO BUSINA, wala pa siguro ka maka suway ana brad noh? Kanang mga higayon nga naa kay di sundan tapos mo kalit lang ug liko without warning or naay ni kalit ug labang tapos ang imo nalang nabuhat is to hit the brakes hard. It's easier said than done, try daw one time, kung makaya ba nimo nga mo brake ug kalit nga hapit naka ma tuwad and blowing your horn, basin dili ka aware nga you are using BOTH HANDS WITH FORCE kung mo brake ka ug kalit, to balance the bike. There is no such thing as hard brake and blowing horn AT THE SAME TIME if you were not prepared for the moment.

Which part of the day man diay ang daghan ug motor nga saba ug muffler, during sleeping hours? Unsa na nga planet brad? We have to respect the fact that bisan wala pay mga motor nga saba ug muffler, saba gihapon ang karsada during working hours and early evenings!

It boils down to preference man sad gud, like ako, ganahan ko mag ilis ug muffler pero ang gusto nako dili grabe ka saba kay, as i've mentioned, daghan man na ug levels ang mga muffler, the bigger the hole the louder it is. There are people who change their muffler because they want it and for some because they need it. It's just that.

Kasabot ko sa imong point brad pero ang pangutana man gud diri is siya ra ba ang naay saba nga muffler nga mo agi from cebu to dumanjug or sa karsada for this matter? Ang mga habal-habal riders kay most of them bya saba ug muffler and they are everywhere. Subdivisions and other private areas is a different story kay dili man na agi-anan ug sakyanan.

Ako bayang gi stress out ang akong na experience nga you need to make a split second decision. I'm interested in his reply if maka experience na siya ug ingon ana.
