confirmed sir. daghan sila mga tawag nga nadawat regarding ani nga issue. and like the answer i got... walay kalibotan ang technical sa panghitabo kung ngano nag sudden change sila sa specs for HD5570

i used to work for this kind of career for more than 3 years sir.. and it really frustrates me knowing that some companies still employ people for "technical" support that lacks the knowledge itself or worse dili jd hilig sa taw ga ilang e hansak ana nga department. customer service is the real quality of a product, di bale nga dili kaayo nindot ang product but the "after-buy" service/experience sa customer is satisfactory.

ana gyud na lagi bro basta ang modawat sa calls, mga call center agents. dili man lagi tanan na gi-train sa technical info kay out sourcing ra man lagi. here in the company where i worked, under nako ang QAR and Customer Service Eng'g pud... if mag hire ko, one of my requirement kay ang technical knowledge sa applicant then one ma hire, ipa undergo nko ug training (theory & hands-on) para bisan bali2-hon pag pangutana, kamao sya. ang naka lahi, direct hire man sa company and dili call agent na out sourcing lang.

dapat lagi, if "technical support" kamao gyud unta as what you've pointed out para dili ma frustrate tang mga end user...

balik ta's GPU nmo, acceptable na ba ang performance nya after the tweaks that you've made?

so far, nka abot ra sa some what "acceptable" nlng nga performance. it's memory clock frequency has a very limited range.. from 667Mhz maayo nalang if mka stable ang card at 690Mhz... go beyond that... mo artifacts na and the driver tends to get corrupted then reloads itself resulting to random flickers sa screen.

as far as its GPU Clock frequency, 700Mhz stable p kaayo but expect temperatures to rise up at 60 in a matter of minutes upon stability tests.. the mod i installed is simply to improve the cooling of the GPU. i attached a custom-fit plastic tubes between the HSF and the board itself allowing direct air from the outside of the case to directly flow unto the GPU.

ah i see... it's nice to hear the results on the tweaks/mods that you've made bro... careful lang sa pag OC nya kay once the GPU will be stressed beyond its limits, it can be catastropic for the GPU...

Don't know if AMD has something to do with this or decision ni sa manufacturers to use a turks rather than the redwood core. Kay usually ang mga manufacturers ginahatagan na sila ug option to customize their vc's. Reminds me of the issue when Palit use to make AMD cards ( ATI back then ). Naghimo sila ug HD4850 with GDDR5 memory. Naapektahan ang sales sa HD4870 cause what separate both these cards kay ang vram ra jud. Niya almost same price ra ang HD4850 w/ GDDR5 sa GDDR3 version. So nagkabikil sila and Palit withdrew or was removed ( not sure ) from AMD's partners in making their cards.

yep. after i figured how this "cut-down" version was designed, i could say "limited" ra gyd ang OC mabuhat ani nga card unlike the "original" version which memory frequency itself can be increased by 30% with stock voltage and fan speed settings.

the last time i saw on PCEx price list... Powercolor HD5570 was on sale.. i for one mka sulti gyd nga sulit na kaayo ni for piso2x units. despite the limitations implemented on its design, mosukol na ni nga card ug bug-at nga games such as (Crysis 2, Skyrim, Total War Shogun, 2, Black ops, and the likes) under high resolutions and with Quality profile set from Catalyst as well. so far best peak performance niya nga resolution with AA and other advanced graphic settings enabled is under the 1280xnnnn... beyond 1360 resolutions, fps drops significantly. without OC ni siya ha...

it's with AMD sir, as what i've mentioned on one of my posts. AMD supplies the GPU to the manufacturers, upon receiving the supplies the manufacturers would then design a card that would comply to the GPU schematics. this includes the BIOS as well, before the manufacturers flash their BIOS unto the video card's eeprom (bios memory) ilaha pa e submit sa AMD for approval. only then the manufacturers would begin the mass productions once AMD has approved their design.

salamat sir nicejohn. just had a thought of sharing this experience for added awareness para nato tanan nga mga consumers. dili bya gyd ta kahibaw sa "unod" of a certain computer part especially video cards nga ato paliton, all we could do is base it sa labels indicated on the packaging. only then we find out sa "unod" mismo if naa na nato ang item and with the use of proper tools.

I also have a cut-down version of the HD5570 from PowerColor, which I got from PCX last January 2.. I thought it was better since it had a beefed-up cooler, but I was proven wrong..

I've managed to overclock it to 795MHz core with no problems with the temperature, it stays below 50 degrees C.. Maybe the bigger cooler used by PowerColor has something to do with this.. I didn't OC the memory since I did a little research about the chips used, I think it's the same Nanya chips that are used with your card TS, and it is rated for 667Mhz operation lang jud..

On older games and lower resolutions it runs great but once you turn up the details or run newer games, mag lisod na ang card on stock frequencies.. Ang performance ani nga card higher lang gamay compared sa akong older Sapphire HD4650.. Tried searching the SKU for this card on PowerColor's website, wala sad ni gawas sa results.. Nuon, barato ra man ni katong pag palit nako, so you definitely get what you pay for..

you can still manage to increase memory frequency pero grabeng gamaya ra gyd which makes me agree with you on the "rated 667Mhz operation lang jud." as for the core frequency, nka abot p ko ug 815Mhz and still managed to stabilize temperature below 50. tungod na ni sa additional cooling mod nga ako gibutang sa card.

im just curious though on one part of your video card sir... what type of DVI port does it have? kay ang ako has this kind of port for the DVI...
