    all in all sir.. what you suggest is plain luxury lang not practical hehehe.. BTW, AK47's maybe cheap, but its bullets arent.
    its only our POLICE forces particularly the SWAT team that has been given hi-tech weapons especially kung ma destino sila sa progressive na cities like GMA areas, makati, quezon, cebu and davao regions as well.. ang ato mga AFP dili kaayo nila matagaan anang mga latest na baril which is really needed especially sa mga rebel infested areas sa mindanao..

    BTW, buying AK47 weapons and acquiring bullets specifically for this kind of weapon maybe a bit of a luxury, but it does give a reliable combat purposes labe na ug mag-ulan or mabasa ang rifle, AK47 will stand a chance.. unlike the M16's na kung mabasa na mapalya..

    submachine guns like MP5 navy may not be a long range combat gun that is why I specifically said for AMBUSH purposes we need submachine guns like that to be able to fight in a close quarter range like the dense jungles of mindanao.. I think the more VARIETIES of guns our arsenal we have the better chance that our FORCES will win against enemies, right? and the better chances also that they can develop strategies to fight in a close quarter range using submachine guns would be a good idea too.

    sir what do you mean GMA areas?... lets not put politicos here.. by the way the better income ang city the better ilang ma provide nah armas sah SWAT/

    then again.. its not that accurate in shooting, its not like where sending our beloved soldiers for a year in dense jungle without time to replenish or clean there guns anyway.

    @elvandesantos

    I'm not trying to put POLITICOS here, please don't interpret that way.. I am just stating what I observe between the weapons of SWAT and our AFP weapons..GMA means greater manila areas like those covered by NCR regions..

    even though AK47 is not that accurate enough to fire on enemy but still u can't deny its reliability in terms of combat that is why I suggested that kind of weapon to be in our AFP's arsenal also.. and BTW I also emphasize in my post that if we have a lot of varieties of gun the better our AFP can develop new strategies to fight insurgents..

    BTW when I say AMBUSH I am not implying that our AFP ang manguna sa GUBAT.. What I mean by this is that IF ever they have a strategy to have an AMBUSH type of combat like they will have a rescue mission to save a HOSTAGE then that kind of AMBUSH strategy that I am talking about may be applicable in their combat.. And that is also the reason why I suggested submachine guns for that purpose in terms of close quarter combat na..

    dreamer na kaayo kog reply sa ani nga thread.. hehe.. sorry TS.

    I just really want for our SECURITY FORCES, particularly the NAVY to have the best equipments so that they can fight insurgents better and worst case INVADERS of our territory.

    can u explain your posts that I Underlined? what does GA means and what do u mean by redundant?

    anyways, kung ako opinion lang pud I would really prefer AK's to be in our AFP's main rifles since it can withstand harshest conditions... maski ako kaila na scout ranger mu prefer jud bitaw sya ug AK's kay mugana gihapon bisan mabasa unlike sa M16's.. kanang inaccurate shooting sa AK is an adjustment gyud na sa user.. dili man gud na parehas sa M16 ug accuracy but in terms of longer use? AK 47 is outstanding for me.. I bet our asian neighbors too understands the reliability of AK's..

    I am just wondering, why do we have to buy these ships if we can build it in our own backyard? I remember jun magsaysay made a bill for us to build our own navy ships after Tsuneishi Heavy Industries made training ships for the british royal navy. but it never happened i dont know the reason.... with resources and manpower available we can even design our own battle tanks. there are young idealistic mechanical engineers waiting to be deployed.... And I believed we are not yet in the level of building something that will fly we will just buy them....
