russian mig 29, 31? could be a lot cheaper than F16s. Maintainance? we dont have to worry. They'l send the whole package if we buy. They could provide cheaper spare parts, or we can make our own spare parts.
All we need is upgrade the whole system with stealth technology, and more advanced specs.haha

your simply telling us here the government need to change. but it cannot be done overnight. it takes baby steps 1st otherwise it could lead to unwanted problems at the middle. for my observation, men @ uniform now are more "well dressed, equip, etc" than 20years ago... isnt that a change already?

education gets to have the higher budget, its in the law. correct? so upgrading our military is binded sa budget sah education. Higher education budget must be 1st, military 2nd... and military equipments aint cheap FYI. is the Education buying boots? ships? planes? i guess not. you get my picture?

what picture? yes, education is not buying boots, common sense naman ata yan kasi defense have their own budget. but what percent of the defense budget goes to good use? lagi may budget, my question is, is the government willing to spend for modernization? or is it just spending for the sake of showing that our army men are well-dressed, but not well-armed?

its not that easy to change system...its like windows to linux it takes time and money.

goverment maybe, but with the APF they know exactly what are their priorities, thats why they have the modernization by phase..

some forumers here said that those planes that u mentioned are quite expensive in maintenance daw.. and our PAF hasn't that technology that can be compatible with those of non-US foreign technology that we have in PAF's arsenal..

i don't think they considered. most of the nations that brought them is having a hard time maintaining them. some counties like china make their own variations of the said model. a luxury unfortunately we don't have. availability of parts and maintenance is very hard for those products, let alone training.
