me? i usually do the spread version... pero pea size ra akong ibutang sa tunga then i will spread the paste with the free spreader sa cpu cooler. igo ra mga .5mm thick ang paste.

both videos show that the spread method makes air bubbles/air gaps w/c is bad for heat transfer...
