lisod kaayo muingon ang hiring company
nga no need for educational background or credentials and just base it on skills

kay daghan pud baya nag tu-u maayu sila bisan wala training or proper schooling
mag baha ang office or HRD and it would be veeeery difficult to screen who's actually having that skill

its just the best way of narrowing down the options to set a required qualification like educational attainment the least

and its not actually job discrimination. it's what you call qualification preferences

Wa nay magpa enroll ka College if madawat raman diay bisag High School graduate. Nganu mugasto man ko ug College if pwedi man diay ko maka trabaho bisag HS pko.

unfair sad guro sa mga nigasto ug daku kaayu for at least 4 years sa College nya ang dawaton kadtung HS graduate.

One just needs to have the right attitude. Sure you've heard of stories about janitors who persevered went to school after work and eventually became executives.

Still, not too many have such mindsets, so having a degree is a quicker way, that is if your parents can send you to college.

Depends on what kind of skills we are talking about here.

College grads have invested much already in their qualifications and credentials (e.g. education). If I were the boss, I'd definitely put my money on someone who has legitimate papers that makes him more qualified for a certain job (but of course that comes with higher pay). If the job we're talking about here is something anyone can do (labor work, for example), then I'd settle for the skilled high school level applicant. I'd save more on my budget for manpower. Efficiency, not discrimination.

There's no discrimination. That's just how this country works.

    ^ It's also called preference.
Some companies think applicants who has a degree is more patient and intelligent.
I always complain about this. There are more undergrads qualified for the post than graduates but because it's the company's preference wala na jud mahimo.

There are some undergrads who ace application interviews but during the actual work magsiga nalang mata. most engineering jobs and positions na kelangan jud og very high quality or minimal error kelangan graduate jud kay kasagaran major subjects sa 3rd, 4th and 5th year mas relevant naman na sa job.

my POV with this is, most of the companies who will not hire single parents think you will be overwhelmed already with your child/children's stuff and you might can't render overtime if needed in the company. Or you might apply too many PTOs/leaves coz no one will take care of them.

Still, a company can say it's their preference.
